While the show has a good number of strong supporting characters, I couldn't imagine it without Michael Scott. At least we'll definitely have him and the show for one more season.

Last night's episode was OK.

I think Steve Carell realizes the shelf life of the show is nearing its limit. Another season is about all they'll be able to wring out of the concept. His contract is going to be up and his movie career is taking off. I expect next year's 'Office' to be the last. Now, whether NBC can be persuaded to let it die with some dignity is another question.

I was thinking the same. Better to go out on top.

Last night's episode was one of the best this season, IMO.

they really need to bring in some new writers or shake things up
somehow. it's getting predictable and repetitive.

Great episode! If Carrell has to leave, about the only thing I can think of is to have Amy Proehler (sp?) take over as boss and kill that dreadful Parks and Recreation.

If Carrell leaves, that'll be it. Hopefully they end it rather than trying to milk another couple seasons out of it.

I used to love this show, but now I'm basically watching it because it's one of the few shows my wife likes that I can tolerate, so it's actually something we can watch together.

Agreed. It is almost on my "stop watching" list. I find few laughs and the show is almost boring to sit through. All good things must end.

I thought for sure after Kevin as Cookie Monster, that they were going to compare the new corporate guy to Kermit the Frog.

I think Darryl's prank on Andy is one of the show's funniest moments. I lost it when they made the video for evidence.

i've been disappointed with the office most of this season.
not too much they've done has worked for me.

but last nights show was the funniest in a long time

Jim and Pam's dual interviews are starting to be the funniest material on the show for me.

Nice to see the Darryl (or Darnel?) is fitting right in with the folks in the office.

I thought the Dwight in the gym skit was hilarious as he tries to seduce Michaels girlfriend to enable him to tell Michael that she is cheating on him. I fell on the floor.

Michael telling everyone about his sex life in the meeting and the look of horror on all their faces.

Agree with the video at the end, funny stuff.

Great episode all the way through.

It featured a David Wallace appearance, another immature phone call from the "Pac-Man," the IT guy growing tired of the disrespect, Dwight's ambitious plans for property acquisition and Michael becoming the image of the printer problem. Yup, this episode was a winner.

I completely agree. Great ending to season.

Funny stuff. Like how almost everyone in the office could be considered the Whistle-blower and how Andy was getting crapped on.

Michael reading the end of the company statement. I will not be taking any questions, now are there any questions. LOL!

This is the only season of The Office I have considered buying. Not that there was anything wrong with prior seasons, but this season was less "squirmy" and the ensemble was warmer and more highly developed. And a bit more surreal.

I like how Pam has developed after having her baby. She seems more protective of the easily duped Michael Scott and more caring in general, even more so than during her days as secretary.

It sure looks that way. If so, I wonder what will happen to Toby? In any event if Holy comes back Michael will of course blab that he asked for it and she'll hate him.

We'll just keep this one going.

I thought the finale was only ok. I didn't think it was very funny, nor were there any real cliffhangers, etc to make it seem "finale-ish". I love the office, but I do agree that they are near the end of a reasonable storyline. I think the storyline of the past couple seasons has been pretty ridiculous as it is (the seasons have been mediocre at best). I wouldn't mind NBC making the next season it's last and letting them go out before it's just complete garbage.

Mentioning Holly wasn't much of a season hanger. I can't imagine Amy Ryan coming back for more than a couple of episodes next season. That woman is busy!

Assuming the rest of the cast would be willing to stay if Carrell leaves, I think this show could run for a few more years. I'd love to read the list of potential Michael Scott replacements.

This season was my least favorite, but there were still enough laughs. The Office is still the only of the four Thursday night comedies I must watch the same night, but I admit I believe it is now the least funny. Parks and Rec has come a long way.

I agree with this but we're probably a minority. The characters are great but I laugh more at the office/business situations that are straight out of the business world. I know lots of people watch the show for the kooky things the characters do.

I watch it for an even combination of both the kooky character behavior and the portrayal of the office/business life. I have experienced so much of the office/business world in real life that the show would be too boring if it had more ordinary character interactions.

I think the characters on the Office are regular people with the volume controls on their personalities stuck at full volume.
