The Office on NBC - Seasons 5 - 9 - Page 4

For me, it wasn't that her actions weren't justified...it was more that Jenna Fisher doesn't seem to do "angry" well. She seemed more "petulant," and therefore annoying to me...

That is exactly how I feel about it.

Only because it is a side of her that we never saw before, making it seem out of character and therefore not sure how we should react to it. I like the added dimension to her personality and believe it enhances the twist and turns of the unexpected plot lines to the show.

You could justify Pam's actions, reactions, etc... by saying that she's pregnant, and her hormones are way off balance.

I agree. In the past Pam would have quietly stewed behind the reception desk afraid to say anything because Michael would have just made things even worse so she'd know her place. Now she's a salesperson with a husband, a house, and a baby on the way and isn't afraid to say how she feels.

It's happened before. Remember back when Karen was the catalyst for Pam taking control of things during the Christmas party? For the first time Pam wasn't being pushed around and it was awesome. I think Jim is the catalyst for her tougher personality now.

I'm not so sure that's why (because I/we have never seen that side of her before)...if that was the case, some of her supposed "angry" zingers would've given me a whoa/wow reaction, rather than the eye-rolling that I actually did.

Awesome episode. The icing was how the mallard tied into something I've done in real life - I gave a friend of mine a wooden duck because she LOVES ducks, and I freak her out if we're on the phone and say I like what color shirt she's wearing or something similar, because of my "secret duck camera." No camera in real life, but I mess with her using my good guessing and intuition. I demand royalties from NBC!

I really enjoyed "Koi Pond." Michael's SNL-inspired Halloween costume, the office watching the security video, Kevin's continued childish comments, and the development of Erin's character were all standouts.

Good episode, but as someone who loves Halloween episodes of my fav sitcoms, I was disappointed that they only used it during the opening.

"Yes, I'm the popular social networking site known as Bookface."

Classic.

That was a great costume idea.

Another great episode of The Office. Toby was great. Him teaching Pam how to throw a punch while Michael looked on was great.

Pam's mom has been 49 years old for 9 years now and Michael calculates that she is 54 years old. Great Michael moment when he found out she was 58.
She looked great for 58 though.

FYI, Helene is played by Linda Purl who, according to IMDB, actually is 54.

Is it possible this show has jumped the shark already? This is by far their worst season.

You have been saying that for 4 years now!

Did anyone else think Pam's mom looked similar to a older Jan?

I think four years ago was the last time he watched an episode of the Office.

skyehill is the master of busting into a thread screaming about how awful a show is without giving any indication that he's ever watched it. He pulled the same thing in the So You Think You Can Dance thread last season.

Definitely.

Sorry, but what do any of these threads in here about the shows themselves have to do with HDTV? Why aren't all of these moved somewhere associated with general programming. Someone watching these shows with rabbit ears on a 35 year old Toshiba B&W would have the same comments.

Why on earth are you wasting server space with this post?

These threads are about programs that are broadcast in high definition (with some exceptions).

You should talk to Ken, the person who actually owns this AVS Forum instead of complaining to nobody in a random thread.

Now I am wondering if this was done intentionally and something we did not pick up on and is the reason why Michael was attracted to her in the first place despite the age difference.
If this was the 9th time that Pam's mom is celebrating her 49th birthday, then she would only be 57.

last nights episode was the worst i've ever watched of this series. simply unfunny (aside from creeds brief appearance) and actually annoying.
the wall street journal reference, creed, oscar's accent, and prank on Dwight was hilarious

Poor Nard-dog

The whole show was hilarious especially the beginning with Dwight fighting himself.

The murder mystery was very good and Creed had the funniest moment in the entire episode.

ugh! comedy must be very subjective. this element of the show (thus nearly the entire show) was dreadful imo.

The will they/won't they get together is a horrible infection that plagues NBC comedies.
