I'm not saying that at all. But why do they think they need to pre-screen a show to a bunch of people to add laughter to a show? What are they scared of? That people won't know a joke is funny?
There's been tons of funny shows with laugh tracks - Friends, Seinfeld, That 70s Show. There's been so many great non-laugh track shows in the past decade or so that given the option, I'm choosing to watch shows without it since I honestly hate laugh tracks that much. It screws up the timing of the show to me. Joke, pause and wait, joke. It bothered me on Seinfeld too, to be honest. It bothered enough people that audiences were told to stop cheering so much for Kramer every time he burst through Jerry's door.
