I watch same day, but on my HTPC PVR recorded off OTA. My views aren't being counted whether I watch it live or watch it next year.

I'm not a Nielsen family so it doesn't matter. If they are mining DVR data then they know what I record and when I watch it. Live+7 DVR numbers are also widely reported.

I watch "same day" albeit time shifted. I know I am probably NOT being counted (or am I? TV delivered to me by NBC's parent company Comcast), but still watch the same night due to both not wanting to wait as well as showing some needless solidarity.

I was a Nielsan family for a while and they did start having you list when you watched a show off a DVR what day/time the original recording was.

Did anybody watch Cougar Town this week? There's a nod and a tip o' the hat to Community in it.

I've never seen the show before, but was finishing my dinner and nothing else was on, so I checked it out. At first, I was stony-faced, but by the end I was chuckling a few times.

Anyway, at the end of the opening credits, where we zoom in to an animated map of Southern Florida and the title of the show appears, it instead read "Cougarton Abbey."

Community gets referenced a lot on Cougar Town (and vice versa) due to the friendship between the show runners. Danny Pudi was in one of the episodes too.

Yeah, loved the episode. The clip sounds like Jeff, but the volume seemed off. The dialogue in the final changed quite a bit too. Ending seems odd since they're not supposed to be back at school at that point.

It was filmed last - but it was basically a stand alone episode.

The 8-bit episode is probably the only episode I wouldn't watch a second time. The novelty was funny initially (and it had a lot of good freeze frame gags) but by the end the concept had already run out of story, to the point where the boss battle was almost actual video game footage. Unlike the animated episode which managed to keep the characters in scene this one relied too heavily on the concept to sell the joke.

The heist episode was okay. It did have my favorite line of the night - "don't you know how hard it is out there for a Moby lookalike?" - and the fail twist was accurately spoofed. Disappointed they didn't have a stun baton duel.

Last episode would have made a good series closer with plenty of returning plot strands tied up. I literally just flipped over and watched Full Metal Jacket at the pivotal scene with Pyle in the bathroom before watching this episode, so it was funny to see the AC mantra on the chalkboard riffing on the "this is my gun ..." moment.

I didn't think any of those episodes were as good as last week however. Fairly middling overall.

.

Funnier because he played a guy on HIMYM that they thought was Moby

Ha, I completely forgot about that! It was funny then too.

His character name on HIMYM was "not-Moby", and on Community it was "Faux-by"

Loved Evil Abed, but thought it was a missed opportunity when he said "Cool, cool cool cool" instead of "Hot, hot hot hot".

Wasn't a fan of the 2nd episode tonight. Chang sucks. Sick of his character and hate any amount of time they spend on him at this point. Fortunately he's been out of the picture most of the season. 3rd was a nice close for the season.

I thought he said "Cruel. Cruel cruel cruel."

Listened to it again, he does say Cruel. Not sure why they went away from his opposite phrase of normal Abed, but its definitely better than what I thought he said.

Did you pick up when Troy and Abed found the baby, and when it was being carried out it said "cool cool cool"

I thought the 8-bit episode was fantastic. Very well done and clever. The other two episodes were good as well.
Whole lotta "meh" last night. On the plus side, no more meandering, pointless storylines involving Chang or the AC annex.

Yeah, after all the 8bit Abeds doing it, it was funny. I loved the 8bit episode a lot on the 2nd viewing. It works even better if you're a video game player. Each of their characters is clearly modeled after a real vg character. Jeff - Megaman, Britta - Princecess Peach (you can tell by the way she jumps and hovers over gaps).

I think when they talk about Chevy walking off set for one scene it was supposed to be the one that ends the 8Bit episode.

If NBC wants to save money, stop paying Ken Jeong. His character doesn't work anymore. At all. When he was pushing the boundaries of insanity as a teacher, he was excellent. But as a full-on lunatic he stopped being even remotely funny to me. And what a shame they wasted a season of John Goodman. So much more should have been done with him. Overall I thought the season started weakly, picked up real fast and had some amazing episodes, fell again after hiatus, and then ended strong.

Why 3 episodes in a row?

they were originally going to have a 2-hour Awake season finale, and then finish off Community next week after sweeps, but changed their minds a few weeks ago.

(probably because they decided to keep Community and cancel Awake)

All three conceptually quite imaginative, but all three were not all that funny.

It looked like the third one was set up as a series closer so that if it does get canned at least it ends properly. I appreciated that.
They should have ended the show with all of them in that insane asylum.

2nd ep was funnier to me (the Chang Dynasty) than the 8-bit ep, but the latter was pretty damned inventive. Made Pierce out to be less than an a-hole, too (at least for a moment). Have yet to watch the actual finale yet.

While the finale was shot before word of the show's future came down the pike, we now know that there will be at least 13 more installments in the fall or winter.
Finale was definitely shot and written to be a series finale if need-be. Wouldn't have been disappointed if the series ended that way.
