'It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia' on FXX HD - Page 4

A very entertaining episode, just not that FUNNY. Maybe the Gang has run out of ideas.
Come on...they snuck "I like turtles" in there!

I sort of agree with PiratesCove. It wasn't the best episode.
It wasn't bad, though. I thought it was good. I want to spend $50-$80 and buy Seasons 1 - 4 and Christmas Special. Damn part time job.

We watched and 10 minute mark we were saying these really are the lowest lifes on tv. At 20 minutes couldn't believe they were lower yet. 29 minutes in and while laughing our fool heads off had to agree that the gang has not lost their touch.
GREAT TV !

The DENNIS System was awful (morally) in so many hilarious ways.

The trick this show has is to slowly pull you into situations that should be stupid but almost make sense.

The cannibalism (!) episode from the third season was perfect. Same thing with "Dumpster Baby" and "Dennis and Dee Go On Welfare". They set you up with a ridiculous premise and push it beyond where any show would go.

I wish they would push the show beyond 16:9 SD back to 4:3 SD because the old episodes look (and are infact) better.

Pretty funny episode, if not the grossest for the Gang.

It was something like "Fighting crime, penetration." x5

Heads up..
Sunny's season finale is tonight!
I wouldn't mind having a couple beers and enjoying myself tonight. Can't wait!

Definitely will do the same and maybe re-watch the Christmas special afterward.

Great finale , really funny and original. It reminded me a little of the old College days...Go Body Painting!!!

Ha, body painting.
Good episode. I'm sure they would have been arrested in real life. Trashing that restaurant like that. I guess in Sunny, a lot of stuff would be illegal.

Dennis all angry when coming back to the bar was good. All hyped up, speaking in pairs of 3. ha.

I'm guessing there will be another season next year. I can't think of FX canceling this great show.

Except the women I went to school with weren't in their late 20's and early 30's.

The thread title should be changed too. This season will be in HD.

Do you have a source on that?

Done.

I already have my kitten mittens on standby so my cat's footsteps won't distract me during the premiere.

There was an article in Fred's HOTP thread about it. FX executive commented that they initially held off, preferring to keep the indie look, but have since decided that HD is the status quo.

Yeah, I heard that too. I just hope it looks better than that "DVD upscale" look.

Anyway, I will be watching The Gang on Thursday.

Scared this will happen again. They 'say' it'll be in HD, but really not.

We shall we
The Gang is back and funnier than ever.

And its actually in HD!!!!!

I noticed a few new haircuts, I guess Dennis lost his "Kennedy Hair".
I didn't think it was that good of an ep, however it DID set it up nicely for the rest of the season.

Not sure how I feel about the show getting running story arcs. Best thing about the show was how episodic it was from one show to the next., with a few two parters and some small connections between em.

We shall see, good episode but it wasn't very lol funny.

I thought the same thing! The episode was decent, but I really thought they did a great job wrapping up most story lines in a single episode. I guess we will see how it turns out.

I understand what you are saying. Their is a huge comparison to this show and Seinfeld. Different times and obviously different style of joke, but a very similar concept in joke telling and character styles.

I was a huge Seinfeld buff, and love Philly to death.

With respect to story arcs...that is where Seinfeld took off. They started a huge arc with the Jerry show, and the rest is history.

It looks like they are doing the same here. Attempting to do some sort of arc and see what happens. If you watched the episode, read under the spoiler.

Dennis is the perfect one for the writers to take away is freedom. And because of that, everyone else will be affected. Mac, obviously because he can't live there anymore. Dee because I am sure the competitiveness between her and Dennis will rear its head. And with Charley and Frank trying to get married...too many possibilities. Wrap that all up into episodic shows and I think we are in for the best season yet.
