Thanks Floyd! Got the theater door stained with the General Finish Gel Stain in Brown Mahogany. It's nice - came out good - just not sure of the darkness of the color. I'll check it out tomorrow and see what I think. Wife loves it, which is nice. That General Gel Stain is great BTW.

One other note, the reflections on the ceiling Dennis was talking about are non-existant and I have the PJ image right up against the ceiling. I'll have another 4" seperating the ceiling and the screen with the SMX, so I am NOT concerned in the least now. That Rosco Velour paint just sucks light!

Felt great tonight sitting on the mattresses with my girls watching
"Horton Hears a Who" on BluRay. Can't imagine what it'll be like with a screen instead of a sheet.

Thanks mikieson! Home stretch is relative I guess. Baby's coming in 1 week, so we are on a hiatus. I have all the wainscoting to get done, PJ hush box to build, SMX screen to mount, doors to stain, hardware to put on the doors and all the rack organizing to do. Maybe December.. I think I heard someone say recently, that I am finally at the half-way point.

I'm certainly afraid of actually building the PJ box, buying my JVC HD950 and never getting to any of the trim, etc.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo

Very nice.

Those moments with the kids are priceless. Great that you are getting those pictures. Even though my eldest is only 8, I try to treat every day like she is going to be a teenager that wants nothing to do with her parents tomorrow so I don't waste any opportunities.

Congrats on the progress.

Not even light can escape that Black Hole! Just like Stephen Hawking said

TO ALL SOUTHEAST MICHIGANDERS AND NORTHWESTBUCKEYES:

I have 70 feet or so of 1" JM Linacoustic left over and if someone wants it - you can come on over and we can work out a deal. I paid contractor pricing, so not a bad deal. My wife wants it out!

I also have about 8 - 2" - 12"x12" Auralex Foam Wedges, 2 single gang and 1 double gang entry plates for wiring and some left over carlon tubing.

Can't return any of it, so it's up for anyone building a theater in the area.

I'm interested in the 1" Linacoustic. How wide is it?

Standard width - 44"

I can go double-check, but not til tomorrow afternoon. I'm heading to bed and will be gone all day. I'm nearly 100% sure it's 44", but shoot, I have had so many numbers running through my head over the last 6 months.

That sounds right...

Mark- carpet looks plush and regal - congrats! Yea, those wrinkles will just pick at your OCD, day after day You made a wise choice- let it go (for now). Ha, happy place...just watched the last 1/2 hr of Happy Gilmore again w/ my boys and the whole happy place scenes are hilarious!

Very lux looking carpet. You should throw a few pics of it in the carpet "show me".
Mark, carpet looks great! I was reading with interest your comment regarding the change of sound quality in the room with and without carpet. I've got reflections that all the linacoustic in the world can't seem to tame and I'm hoping my floor is one of the major culprits. Sounds like it is at least playing a role.

Looking great! Can't wait to be at the point you are.

Very Nice Mark,

The Carpet coordinates beautifully with your wall color.

Well, contractions started this morning.. We should be on our way to the hospital to welcome Baby #3 any time now. Killing time in between contractions surfing the forum... Baby #3 is much more chill than the first 2. Man it was stressful for the first 2... Now the bags are packed and we are just waiting. My wife even asked if we could go downstairs and watch a movie.

Still haven't decided on a name. But Tyler seems to be in the lead...

Good luck with the baby. We quit at 2.

We spent time with this website when naming our kids:

Also, when the baby was coming we used a contraction timer (not this one, but similar), was a help:

Tyler Henry was born last night and immediately asked what was taking so long on the theater.

Mom and Baby are doing great. 7 pounds 11.5 ounces and 20 inches long. Big Feet!

Theater is officially on pause!

Congrats!

Congrats!

3 kids is fun. It keeps you busy.
Congrats Mark! Always nice to hear that everyone's healthy.

My friend used to say that if you have 2 kids, you can play "man on man", but with 3 kids it becomes "zone coverage".

Enjoy!

A big CONGRATS on your new addition, and am glad everyone's doing great

About the feet thing, if my math is correct, that would make 1 in 5, or 20% hit rate. Good for him.....you were due

My evil master plan to get back in front on our builds is finally coming together....Wha ha ha ha ha
post #239 of 393
Congrats!!! Hopefully he will be a sleeper.

Big sisters have to be geeked (even though he is a boy).
