Thanks,

Kevin,

I have the harmony 880. I used the 807 that was in the database and I had no issues. I was missing a few buttons that I added manually. I can't see why the 1000 would not work.

thanks for your reply, i read in an earlier post to try the 807 settings and so i did and still nothing, i am wondering if the actual volume button on my remote is faulty? oh well not the end of the world though i do recall it giving me problems every since the firmware update on my harmony which by the way scared the poop out of me i thought my remote was history.

man i absolutely love this reciever it is a whole new level of appreciation for me. i hosted a Transformer II viewing last night with some friends from work and they were blown away. i need to post some pics of my home theater equipped with a full blown concession stand.

Anyone with the NR1007 seeing around 5-10% underscan on 480p component sources (Wii) scaled to 720p? Or any other combination of source/output resolutions? I'm getting underscan when I let the NR1007 scale the Wii component input to 720p, but none when I disable scaling ("through").

Has anyone had any issues with Pandora and running with multiple zones? I noticed this week that there is a significant delay only when listening to Pandora between zone 1 and zone 2. Any way to fix this?

Thanks,
Mike

I've found there is generally a half second delay between digital and analogue sources between zones. did not notice this via the tuner, will need to check pandora as well.

Nothin major but is the volume button on the remote supposed to light up?

I am having a melt-down---I thought the 1007 had Dolby Volume, to me this is a deal breaker--who wants a loud commercial to blow up there a/v unit?

What are you doing to control the various volumes going from TV to commercials on this unit? I need assistance here please.

Thanks for the reply.
I assume that ADV is a step below Dolby Volume since both 3007 & 5007 have the Dolby V but not a feature on the 1007?

There is now a firmware update for all X007 models.

Wait a minute! I could not find Firmware update for Onkyo TX-NR1007. Onkyo TX-NR3007 and TX-NR5007 have a same firmware.

ONKAVR0001_H2H30000EOREHAHA_103

I have Onkyo TX-NR 1007 and 3007 . I am going to play with them this weekend and trying to sell them later.

Same firmware as Onkyo TX-NR3007 and 5007. DId you update via network? or USB?

I just did mine via the net. From what I can tell it fixed the problem I was having before. When I tried to run Audyssey with my mains bi-amped I would get a speaker error.

It has fixed that issue, so now I have just completed running Audyssey and now can finally enjoy movies, the main reason why I bought this receiver.

That is all I know of now.

Which seems strange to me, once it gets to the amp section, you'd think it'd just be passing the same signal to the amps? All the processing should be done by then? Strange, and kind of a bummer IMHO!

These are the trade-offs for the features you get at the low price most of us paid ($1000)- this thing is less than 1/2 the cost of the Denon 4810ci (the cheapest Denon with 9 amps). The delay is not that bad considering this.

Upgraded via NET with no issues.

I am still having an issue with the network connectivity of the unit.
I had to move from IP to Serial control because the IP interface seems to die and require a complete power cycle (removing the power plug) to restore.

Is anyone else seeing these issues?

I pulled the trigger on the Newegg deal Monday and should get it by tomorrow. Having heard many pieces of Onkyo gear in the past, I don't really expect that the sound quality will be quite as good as I'd like for music-only listening, but it should be fine for movies and sufficient to hold me over until a pre-pro comes along at a price I would like. I'm basically getting this as a stopgap piece.

In the long run, the 1007 should make for a good second system upstairs, especially with the built-in network streaming and Pandora features.

It will be interesting to see how it compares to my old Acurus ACT-3 in terms of pure sound quality. The Denon 4310ci that I auditioned recently was definitely a step down, but the Audyssey room correction made a huge difference and really sold me on that technology.

It might surprise you for movie sound (as in good), but not stereo listening probably. My next move will be some kind of amp like Emotiva I think and use this as a pre and surround amp only.

Any of you guys using a x007 to drive 4 ohm speakers?
I received my 1007 today! The depth of sound is far, far superior to that of my old sony AVR.
I am having one setup issue however and am hoping someone can help. I have HDMI in from both my cable box and my PS3. I have HDMI out to a DVI adapter on my mitsubishi RP TV (it is 1080i). I set the video output to 1080i and when I try to view the PS3 or cable, the video will lose sync and I'll get a fuzzy screen (this happens randomly whether viewing HD channels or standard). Has anyone run this type of setup before? Suggestions?

I don't know if it matters but the screen is pinkish when it goes fuzzy and will sometimes flash a red screen as well. My wife is shaking her head at me as we speak. heh
post #539 of 2618
I wanted to post a reply and let everyone know the situation. I switched from an HDMI cable with a DVI adapter at the TV to a DVI cable with an HDMI adapter at the AVR and I am able to set the HDMI output to 1080i and I no longer see any issues. So the fault was either with that cable or more likely the adapter.

The only annoyance that I see now is that when the receiver is off, it seems to be passing 1080p to the TV. If I hook up the cable box with the same working cable and adapter it seems to output properly. So I must have the receiver on to watch tv, which isn't all that great. Otherwise the upconversion looks pretty great to me even on my kids' channels. Once I get all the quirks worked out this is going to be a fantastic AVR!!!

I upgraded via network. FiOS; took like 1 minute.

I had an issue with FiOS cable running component through output HDMI to TV. It would re-sync every like 40 minutes or so, seemed random, my TV would go blue-Screen like no signal and come back a second later.

This update fixed this issue. Seems also switching is faster; and I swear I had less anomalies watching Transformers 2 via PS3 using HD Natural motion or interpolating frames after the update 2.

So far I love this receiver; I have PS3; FiOS; Xbox 360 all going through to a single HDMI out set on "Through".

I love Audyssey; first time using that; and my speakers came ALIVE!

I wish FiOS would fix their or rather Motorala would fix the HDMI handshake issues so I could use HDMI; but component is fine for now.

Seems the update fixed a ton of stuff for a lot of people. I would call it a good update!

For those having network issues; I am using a switch in the living area, with PS3, Xbox, AVR all connected up to my FiOS G-Router; no issues, although I had to tweak the switch; if you are using the switch as WAN, or double NATing your setup; you could have issues upgrading firmware via NET.
