'Modern Family' on ABC HD - Page 2

Ok this show so far just owns. Better this week then last week, I hope it continues cause its freaking funny so far.

GREAT! show. There was nothing I really did not like about it. Except maybe the part where they try to decide what time to shoot (BB pellets), the son.

Too many good parts to name.

"I just stole a child's intellectual property."
"If we're here longer than 3, I'm gonna put a noose up there."
"Was the bear in the passenger's seat?"

Looks like this is going to be one of those shows where I struggle to decide what the best line of the episode is every week. I love it.

Good episode...& funny...better then last week..hope it can stay like that.

The best episode...when the hot chick said...heres ur bike...that u were looking for when u were in my bedroom in front of that guy wife....

plus....when he said...I dont care what the old lady says...& then calls her to see if she is around before completing the sentence

"my dad is way better with tools than you are. He can take the wheels off a car in less than a minute"

"they're blowing bubbles"
"how nice for............the kids"
what was it that the wife said about the hot neighbor? I missed it.
Pretty sure the wife said the neighbor had already slept with 2 of the dads from school.

I just placed the jogging sexpot as the science leader of a volcano world visited by the Stargate Atlantis team. Sheppard's bravery wins her over McKay's (cowardly) brilliance.

"Modern Family" is a cleverly written sitcom that keeps me alert, listening for the witty dialog. I watched Patricia Heaton's "The Middle" and Kelsey Grammer's "Hank," but I think their execution is far more formulaic and stale than "Modern Family." I'd predict that "Hank" would get yanked pretty fast, but Kelsey Grammer's cred should keep it on the air. Now I know where Jordan Hinson went after her stint on "Eureka." She's Hank's daughter.

I had hopes of a Must See group of sitcoms on Wednesday night, but so far "Modern Family" is the only one I really care about.

The wife said that the new hottie neighbor had already slept with 2 other dads from their kids school

When I miss something like that line, which I did in this case, I back up the DVR and hit mute to read the closed-captioning.

So, I just had to know who that was who played the hot neighbor, so I looked it up. I couldn't believe that it was Krista Allen.

I mean, she looked good and all, but time has not been too kind. She looked so much older than I remembered her and that stomach area wasn't looking so fit.

If you don't know who she is, just do a Google image search (preferably with the filter off ) and see what she used to look like.

Maybe they will merge some soft porn into the show and keep her working.

If you're talking about the woman they met jogging while they were bike-riding that's not Krista Allen. Her name is Brandy Ledford.

Brandy Ledford

Here's a picture of her in costume.

Brandy as Desiree

I don't know why IMDB has Krista listed in the episode cast as Desiree as well but it's obviously not her in the show that was broadcast. Maybe she was cast in the role and had to drop out for some reason.

Krista Allen (of Drew Carey fame) is Courtney Cox's best friend in Cougar Town. Her cosmetic surgery is obvious and not very well done.
even though the characters are basically all stereotypes and the show gets no point for originality I'll be watching b/c I think it's pretty funny. If you want to see unoriginal and unfunny stereotype, see Hank!

I also like this show better than Community, which tries too hard to be quirky and offbeat but ends up feeling like a comedy writing class rather than a show.

I think this show works because it's basically standup and sketch style comedy, there's the setup and the punchline, haven't seen much plot/story at all, just a seres of situations where the writers can produce funny outcomes. I realize that's what a sit-com is, but they do it extremely well here. The one-liners in this show are darn good as well.

I thought Hank was terrible, I was thinking while watching that maybe Kelsey Grammer should stop trying to be the star and try an ensemble piece next time, I say next time because I'll be surprised if anyone even remembers this one by Jan. Grammer seems to be the same character in almost everything comedy he's done.

It's good because you don't have the laugh track. You laugh when you think it's funny.

I think you mean Christa Miller?

Hehe, is this the mistaken identity thread?
Good show. It's definitely playing on some stuff done before -- hopefully it will find its own soon. Overall good.

Community remains the breakout comedy of the season so far.

I can't believe how many people are still complaining about "shaky" camera work. Have they not seen any TV or movies in the last ten years?

I'm glad IMDb was wrong because I'm usually good at recognizing people, but I just took their word for it.

Now I see they have two listed for Desiree as they probably realized the mistake.

I picked up two comedies this season, community and modern family - the latter is definately way ahead of community. The rests are pretty much junk.
Did they run out of material already? Tonight's show was not very good.

i thought tonights episode was moving really well. b/t the daughter and gloria and manny and claire

I watched, I wasn't impressed. Trite, trite, trite. I canceled my season pass, there is nothing new or interesting here. The dad is still trying to be hip and cool, the father and the gay couple are stereotypes. I was hoping for better. At least it's not "According to Jim" bad, but it's not great writing by any stretch either.

One by one I'm winnowing down my over loaded season passes. 21 minutes freed up...
I thought it was a good one.
Certainly not the best episode to date, but "The Snob Goes to Costco" alone was worth the price of admission.
Strange. I thought it was the best of the three so far.
Fewer LOL moments, but still there were a few; certainly enough to keep me watching. The Middle was the funnier of the two last night and still makes for a great 1-2 punch (ignoring Hank and Cougertown).
