'Modern Family' on ABC HD - Page 14

I agree, awesome episode last night.
Agreed. Haven't laughed so hard in quite a while!
By far the best show in the ABC block of comedies on Wednesdays.

4 thumbs up to last night's episode.

Luke said something like "Dad had the same look he gets when he smells a new car.". lol The Dunphy kids were great last night. Great episode. I also give it 4 thumbs up.

Craig T Nelson came out and said he was offered the role that Ed O'Neill has but he turned it down because they didn't offer him enough money to do the show.

Good...Ed's a better option anyways,

What would be the point of saying something like that? It's either 1) "I regret this choice, I was a dummy, and wish I took the job", or 2) "My ego is HUGE and I'm too good for this show". I wonder which camp Mr. Nelson is in.

^^^ I'll pick Door #2. ;-)

Congrats to the cast for winning at the SAGs last night. I am sick of hearing about Glee.

And, SV was rocking that blue dress--the woman is a goddess. JB looking good too.

I love Glee, but minute for minute, laugh for laugh, Modern Family is the funniest show I've seen in years. I recently got the 1st season Blu-ray set, and after not seeing it for a few months, I was rolling on the floor all over again.

Great episode last night. The return of Clive and Juliana was a nice touch. My wife didn't see season 1 so for people that didn't, they did not get the full joke of it.
Clive and Juliana were not nearly as funny this year. The scene in the bar last year was absolutely hysterical. The subplot with the kids was pretty good.
As usual Cam and Mitchell stole the show. The rest was uninspired and flat.
Cam and Mitchell was the best "well go buy china and move to Vermont".

The Jay/Gloria plot was just nothing. Wasn't funny at all.

I'll disagree. I thought the Cam & Mitchell storyline was silly, but my wife and I were in hysterics over Clive and Julianna. Just goes to show we all take different things away from multi-storyline shows like this.

Manny's crush on Hailey is freakin' adorable.

And I'm in between.

I thought Eric Stonestreet absolutely nailed his elevator exit with a fantastic reaction performance and the "did I validate you" response was hilarious.

And in the bar the "was that an Appletini?" scene was great. The predictability of the ensuing shenanigans was offset by the fact I think Ty Burrell is really owning his character this year.

The Gloria/Jay story was the only one I was apathetic towards.

I thought Gloria's determination to "win" Valentine's Day was funny...
I'm not into the Clive/Julianna bit but I did think it was funny how Phil found himself in the wrong room and the way it played out. Gloria trying to win Valentines Day at the garage was good. They need to let Phil and Claire's son have more lines vs. Manny. That kid is funny. Cam and Mitchell's story was ok.

Step-niece, actually. Just trying to help him out.

Possibly the funniest episode yet. Not a weak link in any of the family's subplots, and Matt Dillon and Shelley Long were truly inspired. Comedy organically arising from character plus solid slapstick; it doesn't get any better than this.

I felt a little better about my own pervy Hailey crush after the Halloween ep w/ her various costumes when I learned Sarah Hyland is actually turning 21 this year. Not actually jailbait, just plays it on TV.

Favorite line:

"A bear? I was going to get a crucifix."

I agree with the concept. I have trouble applying it to this episode. Maybe it's just me, but I don't find much of the humor makes me laugh out loud anymore. It doesn't seem as edgy as it used to. Of course, the "edge" is fluid; the writers need to keep pushing the boundaries. The Halloween episode was the last I remember where the entire show was like that. Since then, it seems to be more hit or miss.

YMMV.

"I've got Gloria"....as he dives in to help break up the fight. LMAO.....

If there's one thing that Phil has done consistently since Season 1 it's to ALWAYS "take" Gloria whenever there's a fight/quarrel. Classically disciplined in his fervor to...assist her....

Loved Matt Dillon in this - almost expected him to end up with some way big dental caps installed & start talking about his love of working w/ "retards" at one point.
