Like I said, the idea is sound, but the one time the fugitive perp is cornered and disabled, the good guy is the one on the receiving end of the bullet.

Anyone else think that Sam is actually Neal's father, who has been in witsec or deep undercover since he was shot during a confrontation with a corrupt officer?

I did like the ambiguity of the long con hinted at the end of this week. Next week it appears to be another National Collar: The Forged Document of Secrets. That looks like it could be fun.

Yep, I too thought that Sam is probably Neil's father. The ambiguity concerning Neil's motivation in deciding to reject the thumb drive that Abigail offered him and telling Peter precisely where she was immediately before she was arrested appealed to me too. Like Peter, the rest of us can't really know what drives Neil.

tech specs:
I asked a member of the current production crew what camera they were shooting on and it is the Arri Alexa.

I hope Treat Williams is Sam and Sam is Neal's father!tongue.gif

Given the "twist" announced for the finale next week, Sam not being Neal's father would be more surprising now.

The show is still delivering for me. The past few weeks have all had some fun moments and slick turns. I liked the visual tricks in the National Treasure episode such as the reel stopping when Mozzie was telling his story and the secret society will be fun to bring back. Also fun if they they bring back Perrey Reeves fixer. We also had the return of Alex, Neil impersonating Banksy and some amusing exchanges with Neil, Peter and Mozzie in the bathroom.

This week I enjoyed the juxtaposition of the comedy boxing rehearsal and the very not-comedy in the ring. The case this week was pretty dull apart from that, so the episode needed it.

How many times have Neal and Peter fallen out now? Three? It won't last, those two just cannot stay mad at each other.

Ford won't allow it. biggrin.gif

Now we know Sam is Neal's father.

I thought as the episode was ending they were going to pull an actually unpredictable twist. That Sam was a bad guy and the person who shot Neal's father. The tattooed kid who was beating Sam was actually another son that Neal's father had while undercover and out for revenge.

That would explain how Tattoo managed to gain access to LE databases. Especially if, before he was shot, Neal's father came clean.

Returns tonight!

I actually forgot the show was due to return before fall. Now I'll have to find a recap of the last episode because the posts in this thread have just made me realize how much I have forgotten about whatever convoluted caper they are currently involved in.

Guess nobody watched the final shows. Using the blimp was genius.

Yup. I thought it was going to be a balloon. But the blimp was a nice historical nod.

Up to the usual standards of White Collar hijinks with some good scenes from Matt Bomer. The ending with Peter arrested and Pratt dead I did not expect, but the drama of the moment is kind of undermined knowing that by episode two of next season Peter will probably be in the clear and they will be back to chasing lost masterpieces again.

If anything the new bureau chief should be up on charges for leaving an unsecured Federal-issue weapon lying around to be used as a murder weapon.

Unless that was her plan all along ...
