yeah i've got a zillion theories on how things will be resolved, but as far as the time slot change im all for it...frees up my friday nights for actual human interaction
post #62 of 193
This Tuesday we found out which one of those zillion theories might be correct.

New episodes start tomorrow. 10pm.

do you think they will address it quickly? Couldn't it be something that hangs around for the rest of the episodes?
At first I was pretty annoyed they seemed to be skipping past and potentially dragging it out for a few episodes. While that was happening I didn't really enjoy this episode.

It was only when the ring situation was dealt with that I believed in the character dynamic again and the rest of the episode was more enjoyable.

I can't believe I totally called out the ring connection. The explanation scene between Peter and Kate felt really weak though.

Does Kate look like a younger (dare I say thinner) Tiffany Thiessen? Or is it just me?

It's not just you.
Definitely not just you. Every episode with the two of them in it result in similar remarks from my wife (and me).

I've noticed many directors have a certain "look" they like in their female characters, and this is probably one of those shows. My wife has pretty much detested blondes from her childhood on, so she's pretty "up" on the attractiveness / looks of Elizabeth and Kate.

yeah when kate first appeared i thought there would be some kind of back story about her being related to elizabeth...dont think they are going down that road, but i guess its possible.

Loved the winter premiere though...thought they handled the cliffhanger resolution pretty well.

Great acting and excellent writing, White Collar 2.0 is a winner.

Yeah, that just seemed off to me. The way Peter said "Neal is my friend" struck me as odd. It won't surprise me if in the end Peter still is the bad guy. I hope not, but I won't be shocked.

Now that you mention it, there is a resemblance. Both have gorgeous eyes and both have big breasts to match.

it's certainly possible that peter might still be working another angle...which would still be pretty intriguing given the circumstances...i was surprised that he let elizabeth in on the fact that he met with kate...maybe there is something between the two of them.

Classic episode, great writing and superb acting. USA makes excellent original shows.

USA....USA....USA....USA....its like a sports game chant for a winning team. USA now has the top three best shows on TV with White Collar, Psych and Burn Notice. This show looks great, is original, and the acting is outstanding. Way to go USA.

Yup, those folks at NBC Universal really know what they're doing.

And yet the people running the NBC network haven't got a clue what they are doing.
Sure they do... they're doing what their bosses at NBCU are telling them to do.

NBCU knows exactly what it's doing, including with NBC. Viewers don't necessarily have to like it in order for it to be best for them. Part of success in marketing is understanding how to drive your customers to your more strategic offerings. I do acknowledge, though, that a lot of viewers hate being manipulated like that, and therefore try to discredit such strategic moves.

That was a much better finale than the previous one but I really hope Kate is dead now so we can move on. That storyline was pretty interesting when the show started but became progressively lamer as more of the "conspiracy" (or whatever it was) was revealed.

Still, another entertaining show for USA with good characters (Willie Garson in particular) and an enjoyably fun season overall.
I really enjoyed the finale but do fear the never-ending saga of Kate is not over and done with unfortunately
I heart Peter though and though Neal is the eye candy on this show Peter is quite attractive too and the Peter and Elizabeth marriage is refreshing . Kudos !
Will Alex be back ? I like her and Neal but better than anything I've seen between Neal and Kate on the show !!

White Collar is back on July 13th and in usual fashion USA is running some crossover promos.

I thought this one was pretty funny.

I thought the season premiere was a really good kick start to the season. The game of cat and mouse between with the bank robber was clever. My dvr cut off before the end of the last season's finale so I missed the part where Kate is "blown up". I think that really helps free up the series in the long run.

Thumbs up from me to. It looked good - clean and stylish - moved well with some great Peter/Neal exchanges and the bank job was fairly exciting.

One scene which was very weird was the Peter/Elizabeth meal. The image looked distorted and the scene appeared almost as CGI, as if it was dropped in at the last minute when they realized Thiessen wasn't in the episode.

Pity Tim Matheson got caught, I would have liked to have seen him outsmart Neal in a few more episodes.

Has Natlaie Morales been written out in favor of the woman from Lost?

I thought the image was distorted because they were trying to make her appear slimmer in spite of her pregnancy.

The scene with Thiessen was really funky. I guess they don't realize that with HD, it is very noticable.

Tim was great, he directed the episode excellent as well!

That must be it. I noticed they did a similar thing with her scene this week too but not quite to the same extreme.

It's kind of unfortunate they have to put Thiessen on the sidelines because it just makes me realize how kind of unnecessary she is to the show. I haven't really missed her.

Seem like this season they are trying to branch out with Neal's placement beyond just the forgery stuff. It's working for me so far.

Not happy about losing Dub-dub Natalie. Shame they didn't give her the same amount of material as they are giving the new Fed.

I agree: bring back Dub-Dub!!!

I thought this week was one of the best episodes yet. Neal got a lot of chances to be witty and charming and execute some little cons and all the cast got screen time and their own piece of the main story. With the exception of Thiessen. This episode moved at such a nice clip I didn't even remember she was previously in the show. Not good news for her.

Mozzie on the comm-link, Jones playing the mark, Neal relishing in his curriculum profile, Alex being the inside man and Peter playing the peacemaker were all enjoyable little scenes. Even the music box subplot is vaguely intriguing now.

Alex is so much more interesting than Kate ever was and works far better with Neal.

And I still can't get over how good this show looks compared to the majority of cable product. The cinematography is crisp and sharply lit and the blocking and editing is nicely done - that hat segue in particular this ep was well executed. The NY locations really help too.

It's great to hear so many positive reactions to this season from you all! Thanks so much for watching an being such dedicated fans. I want to let you know that Hilarie Burton will be on the show this Tuesday at 9/8c...you can catch the preview here. Hope you like this week's episode!

This is one of the best examples of shows polishing up what makes it good in the second season. The only thing missing is Thiessen, because I really liked the interaction between Peter and Elizabeth last season. The last episode with Moz working as the broker was a good one.

The cases this season feel smarter than last season's cases.

Thanks for such kind praise, spid! We are really happy with how this season has played out. It's been a picture perfect pairing with Covert Affairs, too as both shows offer viewers smarter cases with sharper characters. You get your FBI and CIA fix all in one night. Have you been tuning in to Covert right after White Collar? Would love to hear your thoughts!
