Not getting sound or video through my marantz SR8002 receiver

I am usually okay with AV equipment but I am hoping someone can help me with this one. I am trying to set up my marantz SR8002 receiver and so far the only thing I am able to do is use the basic marantz receiver menu on the TV when I click the menu button on the receiver its self. So that tells me the HDMI is working from the receiver to the TV. However, I can not get any sound or video through the receiver. I plugged the TV cable box RCA cables (yellow, white and red) into the TV (1) input, switched to TV on the receiver and nothing happens expect I get a no signal on my Philips LCD TV. When I put the RCA jacks directly into the TV I get video and audio. I also plugged in my PS3 and can not get any video or audio. When I plug the PS3 into my TV it works. Also, I bought a optical cable for my mac book pro and I can not get any sound out of it through the receiver. When plug the optical cable into the receiver I do not see a red light at the end of the cable. PLEASE Help.

We got...sound!!! A system reset by holding down the MULTI and Speakers A+B buttons down for 3 seconds got everything back to normal. Wow I love the B&W MT-30's with the Marantz 8002.
