I had forgotten the special place in hell that was reserved for SOTC's 3rd colossus in hard time attack. I knew I'd beaten it on the PS2, but I'd forgotten just how infuriating it was. It wouldn't be so bad if it were all skill-based, but it seems like it's about 20% skill, 80% luck on that particular one due to all the unstable footing and thrashing on the vitals.
I was beating my head against that one for hours across multiple sessions on the PS3 version, looking up videos of different strategies and putting them into practice. I'd do the sword leap, find the most stable stabbing spots, and do the little trick to get the left arm raised, but every time the stars seemed to be aligning, I'd get nailed with some inexcusable B.S. like falling off the head when I had R1 fully depressed and plenty of grip left, or tons of random thrashing that I'd normally never see.
I got very close to the goal a handful of times, missing it by less than 2 seconds once. Then, on a total fluke, I finally caught every possible break I could, and I suddenly beat the target time by over 48 seconds. WTF. At least that's over...
