Why do people put so much stock into what reviewers, or other people, think of films? I realize a review can give you a simple basis for if you may like something, but reviewers have their own built in likes and dislikes.
My favorite films are action and horror, and I would never go by a mainstream reviewers' opinion on either of those genres. Watching a film is an escape for me. That's why I have a dedicated "batcave" with a 9 foot screen. I like eye candy, and if it has a good story that is a bonus.
My biggest pet-peeve is "those are xxx minutes I'll never get back!" Gimmee a break; my 2.5 hour daily commute is time I'll never get back.
As you can see, I'm pretty easy to please...and I'm glad I am. I have much more important things to worry about.
Now, to seem like a true hypocrite; Gigli was one of the few movies I couldn't make it all the way through. But if it had "lesbian vampires", or lots of stuff blowing up, maybe I could have.
