The fact is that the economy is in the tank right now and retailers are not waiting until black Friday to offer really good deals.
As others have mentionned the doorbusters are almost all either non-desirable sets, either throwaway off-brands or obsolete limited quantity models.
Another trend is for mfgs to offer special models specifically for the holiday period--decontented or outsourced cheapies that the retailers buy in bulk specifically for BF sales.
I work in the electonics dept. of a large Sears store and often price-match BB, both retailers are offering really nice sets at very good prices right now, discounts are much more liberal now than they were last year at this time.
On most desirable models I don't think we're gonna see prices significantly lower on BF, certainly not enough to make one want to go without a tv for another 2 months.
