Warranty Dispute, date error, and receipt problem

I forgot the system I own, isn't the one that was sent back to me after my RROD replacement. (I purchased this one while waiting on replacement)

So I am within the three year RROD warranty. However, XBOX.com and their system show it as being out of warranty. (They say my warranty expired in the beginning of 07, however, the manufacture date is 8-8-2007)

So I have to fax a copy of my receipt to prove my case. Has anyone else had to dispute a warranty?

I don't see the serial number on the receipt... Do you think I'm going to get screwed?

Bought it at Target.

No, just fax it in.

take a pic of the back of the 360 where it shows manuf date and sn. send them that too. if the conso.e says 2007, there really is no dispute.

I can't believe that they would screw around anymore. The hardware is crap.

Mine showed out of warranty on the web but the guy on the phone had 0 problems and just sent me out the shipping label. I am on xbox #4.

Call back and talk to somebody else. If you get the right guy and treat them well they will do just about anything for you. I bought a RE5 Elite out of our local classifieds, called them up to change over the registration to me, without any of the sellers info, no receipt, of course the first guy said no way. I called back the next guy, got somebody else and he did it with no questions.

I've talked to a few folks. One of them sent me a special email to reply to, which I can attach a scan of the receipt to. (Much better then faxing and waiting)

Good idea DLJ, I'm going to attach a pic as well.

email khogan@microsoft.com include your serial number and a short explanantion of what is going on and details on what you want. At the end ask that this be delegated to appropriate staff.

You will get a call back with in 24 hours I have been called back with in 5 hours. This gets you to the most extreme top level of Xbox Microsoft support possible. To give your a briefe example these guys. and girls can pull audio tapes of when you spoke to lower reps.

I got this idea from here

http://kotaku.com/350388/emailing-bi...n-new-xbox-360

it works 100%, I have had my old 360 replaced fully with UPS Red shipping, thats UPS's mythical fastest shipping possible, where the boxes are red or have red lables, and is only offered to big corporations

to put it simply I sent off my 360 in Monday, by that Friday 10 am I had a new one.

since then I sold it and got my ELITE, but despite the 360's problem they have great customer service.

Oh and don't forget to ask for a "Concession" thats the lingo or terminology they use for free stuff, you will either get a Free Wireless controller, Web Cam, Free Games, wireless Mic you name it they can send you any thing as an appology or "concession" but say concession. Only 1 item.

Good Luck. Oh and don't mention your reciept at all they won't ask for it.
