ASUS O!Play .MKV DTS DownMix codec?

Guys,

Have any of you bought the Asus O!Play and tested with MKV and DTS Downmix encoded files? I bought a WD Media player but it won't support DTS downmix codecs, so I am very dissapointed and I will return it, I have less than a week with this device and this is not fair!!! Yes, it's just $ 99.99 and you can not expect a lot for this price, but still I have some hopes that something for the price can play these files with at least to hear the sound.

I don't want to buy a DTS receiver that decodes this DTS downmix audio format, I want to buy something affordable, reliable and that plays this kind of audio format DTS downmix. Almost all MKV comes with this audio format.

Please advise before I buy this ASUS O!Play product .

I read here that it can play over HDMI, but I want to confirm with some of you that is really true and not a mistake from the blogger.

so why it says there, it can play downmix codec through hdmi? is the blogger wrong?

I just want to know if the asus device can play these files MKV DTS downmix and you can hear the sound with no need to buy a DTS receiver to decode it via optical cable.

Please advise

I appreciate the info, but I was not asking about the next generation of WD Media Player, I was talking about the new Asus device that is supposed to play DTS downmix can someone confirm it?

thanks guys for the info, know I know that it can works through hdmi cable and you don't need a receiver to decode the audio, I know that it will not be the same quality via optical cable, but who cares, just I want to hear something ok
