Just wanted to know if there could be any issues with the 6ohm front speakers and the marantz?
I've looked through the manual but can't find any mention of a resistance switch that seems to be quite commmon.

anyone else running 6ohm speakers?

I have a Marantz SR4001 and it doesn't have a switch to toggle between 8 Ohms and 6 Ohms. Though, I was told in another thread that I should be fine running 6 Ohms speakers.

Someone else posted a question about the 4001 today and 6 ohm speakers. Why don't you give Marantz a call and let us know what they said? My hunch is that you'll have no problem.

An impedance switch doesn't alter the impedance at which an amp operates, BTW. The speakers dictate that. If you connect 6ohm speakers to an amp, that is the impedance at which the amp will be operating. Many receivers, even though they are not spec'd to be able to, can feed a 4ohm speaker with no issues. And a 6ohm speaker is even easier to drive. And as Marantz told you, a 6ohm speaker shouldn't be an issue.
