You can read my adventure of using a TNPH0716S in a TH-42PX80UA here, which I corrected later by using the proper TNPH0716AGS.

There appears to be a board available on eBay that might fit your needs.

That eBay board (which is now sold) may or may not be the correct board. The version letters are not visible on the pics.

Please see this thread for examples of how to determine what version an A-board is.

It is currently unknown if that TNPH0716AGS (mt8263ag2) board, which is for the TH-42PX80UA, will work in your TH-42PX80U. You need the TNPH0716S as shown in this document. However, the TNPH0716AGS may be backwards compatible with the TH-42PX80U.

Best advice is to obtain the correct board, TNPH0716S.

If you do get the TNPH0716AGS you listed above and it doesn't work, you may be able to switch the version of the board by moving a jumper, as explained beginning here. However, this has not been tried or proven AFAIK.

Best advice is to obtain the correct board, TNPH0716S.

yap,you right, getting the right board is better...
i have called panasonic and waiting for a reply,on the matter of 1a and 3a boards.

You can look here for Panasonic documents on display faults.

Your video is marked private, and unviewable.

The jumper just indicate the suffix of each board. so moving it will not change anything on the board. You have to get the right board for your TV. i attach a file that you will find useful.

You appear to be right. According to the Panasonic service manual, the suffix jumper just grounds, and appears to serve no other purpose other than to visually determine the board version.

According to a well known tv parts "shop"ping website, you can figure out which A board you need by looking at the lower left of your A board for a box labeled SUFFIX. there are 7 jumper boxes with two letter suffixs' listed above them. Look for the jumper that has a chip in it and the 2 letter's listed at the top will be the suffix for your board. There is a video on their site.

I am running into the same issue trying to figure out which A board I need to replace and came across the video that helped me figure it out, so I wanted to share this find with everyone. The jumper find was mentioned previously on this thread but this is a better visual for you to look for.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I replaced the board and when I turn on tv the service mode comes on.Not sure what to do to get it working normally.

Factory
adjust
wb-adj
option
aging
rm-set
srvtool
fact-test

how do i set it up? this is for a Th-42pz80u panasonic

When I went to fact-test, I can get the hdmi ports to work , played xbox360 and watched cable, but the remote doesn't work it wont turn off the tv and the volume doesn't work.

Even the power button on tv won't turn it off, I have to unplug it. After I unplug and turn back on the service mode pops up.

Anyone know where I can buy a TNPH0716S board? I have searches high and low and can't find one anywhere. Local tv guy says he can get one but it would be $300. I see plenty on sites for $150 but all are sold out

eBay would be your best chance. Although it appears none are available now, there have been several in the recent past, and some will probably show up again in the very near future.

Ok I will keep a check on eBay. Thanks!

For the Aboard if we are trying to replace it certain models are extremely hard to find.

ON the TNPH0800AB there seem to be 6 resistors that differentiate between the board types (Proabably an address selector) i.e.. THPH0800AC had a second resistor corresponding the AC extension.

Can I buy an AC board and pull a resistor to make it an AB? Has anyone had luck with this. Trying to avoid a $80 to $100 experiment.

Hi,

Today I change A-board for Panasonic TX-P50C10Y.
Faulty A-board is TNPH0783 (2) A, but in the service manual is given A-board TNPH0783 (1) A.

Version (2) I did not get, so I bought version (1) A.

In the service menu, I set the 50 ", but evaluated as NG. Value 42" also NG. The value of 37 "is OK.

The picture appeared but in the middle of the panel

The bad is also vertical position (bottom image).

A-board is physically identical to the original. I do not know how to proceed.

Upload new FW - and how?

Thank you for any help and advice :)

(Sorry for my English)
