Replacing Panasonic A Board - Page 2

Now i know what a board to look TNPH 0716AGS.. this board it hard to find.. i found 1 listing on Ebay Item number 220780584548 can u pls conform this is the right board i am looking for? Thank a 1K

That eBay board (which is now sold) may or may not be the correct board. The version letters are not visible on the pics.

Please see this thread for examples of how to determine what version an A-board is.

i found one to buy that looks like your picture ,if you look in top of the hdmi plugs the ici sits in a 45 degree that the only difference that to mine board.

the board that i found has this numbers:
tnph0716-3a th-42px80u
(mt8263ag2)

It is currently unknown if that TNPH0716AGS (mt8263ag2) board, which is for the TH-42PX80UA, will work in your TH-42PX80U. You need the TNPH0716S as shown in this document. However, the TNPH0716AGS may be backwards compatible with the TH-42PX80U.

Best advice is to obtain the correct board, TNPH0716S.

The jumper just indicate the suffix of each board. so moving it will not change anything on the board. You have to get the right board for your TV. i attach a file that you will find useful.

You appear to be right. According to the Panasonic service manual, the suffix jumper just grounds, and appears to serve no other purpose other than to visually determine the board version.

i have asked exactly what boards are interchangeable wit my model

i have the TH-42PX80U
video board numbers:

MARCH 2008


they reply with this info:

According to a well known tv parts "shop"ping website, you can figure out which A board you need by looking at the lower left of your A board for a box labeled SUFFIX. there are 7 jumper boxes with two letter suffixs' listed above them. Look for the jumper that has a chip in it and the 2 letter's listed at the top will be the suffix for your board. There is a video on their site.

I am running into the same issue trying to figure out which A board I need to replace and came across the video that helped me figure it out, so I wanted to share this find with everyone. The jumper find was mentioned previously on this thread but this is a better visual for you to look for.

Hi, I replaced the board and when I turn on tv the service mode comes on.Not sure what to do to get it working normally.

how do i set it up? this is for a Th-42pz80u panasonic

When I went to fact-test, I can get the hdmi ports to work , played xbox360 and watched cable, but the remote doesn't work it wont turn off the tv and the volume doesn't work.

Even the power button on tv won't turn it off, I have to unplug it. After I unplug and turn back on the service mode pops up.
