I'm currently using a Harmony 550 and am considering repalcing it with a URC R50. I'm just curious how macro's created in the R50 compare with the 'activity' function of teh harmony?
With the harmony, when I switch from one activity to another it remembers the state of all devices in the system, so if I'm already watching TV and switch to watching a DVD the only commands sent are to switch the TV input, turn on the DVD player and switch the receiver's input.
I'm concerened that with the R50, if I create a separate Macro for each activity, when I switch from one to the other I will have to sit through all of the commands and delays that would be required if I started with all components turned off, even thought some components may already be on. For example, my "Watch DVD" macro would have the first commands as 'TV On'- 10 sec delay - TV Input DVD - DVD On - receiver On - 5 second delay - Receiver Ipout DVD. Now if I'm already watching TV, there would be no need for teh 10 second TV on delay but with the R50 I'm thinking I'd still ahve to sit through that delay.
If anyone can clarify if this is how the macros work it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob
