Great now we have 3 8500 owner's threads. How about we keep all the info on this TV in ONE place instead of starting the same thread over and over.

That's what new members do...

It must be easier to start a new thread than to use a little initiative to see if the answer may already be there.

What do ya say we make it an even dozen threads!

BTW, is there a way to link threads into one?

to be clear we have one B8500 announcement thread and two official owners threads now that the TV is out. We need to lose one of the two owners threads.

OK, I'll grant you that 14 posts in 6 years may not make him a newbie in terms of membership, but it appears to make him a newbie as far as "experience" unless the odometer has already rolled over.

Should be posted by tomorrow morning. I'm calibrating an LG 55LH90 to do a side by side comparison with the 8500. Should be fun!

I edited the first post and the name of thread to please the angry mob - please post to the other B8500 owners thread. FYI two of us started a thread within minutes of each other so I didnt see the other post - its not like I'm making baby oil out of actual babies... now lets talk about TVs

P.S. Hello standing right here.
P.P.S. Can someone show me how to use a little initiative?

Yes, I did a comparison in my 8500 review, though I haven't updated my webpage rankings page yet.
Sammy has better contrast due to more zones, but LG has better off axis color and better grayscale tracking.
I liked the 8500 just a tiny bit better due to the contrast, but I am not sure if it will come out ahead in the ranking because of the off axis, the shiny screen, and the grayscale.
