Exchange for the 58s1?

Hey, guys

I have a good kind of dilemna. I recently purchased the 50S1 from Best Buy and am loving it. I also bought the BD60 to go with it. But as I watch it, I can't help but feel I'm shortchanging myself in the viewing enjoyment dept. The viewing distance is approx. 9.5 feet. I know according to the different charts that at that distance I should probably have at least a 60" display. I definitely don't want or need the 65S1, but for about $800-$900 more should I exchange for the 58S1? I still have about a week or two left before the 30-day window is closed. My biggest concern is how SD DVD's will look. Thanks in advance.

If you're debating then definitely go bigger. However, take a look at the 54S1 and split the difference in both size and price.

Thanks. I was originally leaning toward the 54, but then I thought why not just go up to the 58 while I'm at it. I may just go with the 54, even though I'd still be below what many consider the optimum viewing distance/display size combination. Damn blu-ray bug finally bit me

I'm about the same seating distance as you and I plan on going with the 54S1(or 54S14). I'm not a videophile and I just can't justify spending another $400+ on the 58". I realize that I won't be happy with the 50". I have to say, though, the 50" pdp is the best bang for your buck! BB had it for right around $1K last week and that included delivery and set-up! I'll probably pick one of those up in the next year or so for the LR.
