Looking for any info and also any other alternatives. need that Large Center Channel Shelf. i know 2 months or so ago they had free shipping. looks well made and the Hidden Swivel Wheels would certainly come in handy(hardwood). my v65 would hang on the wall.

I purchased one of these a few months ago and I love it. Very well built (real wood, not MDF), beautiful finish and strong. I also got it because of the large center channel speaker space. They really put a lot of thought into this product - good air flow and cable solutions built-in. I looked at BDI, Bell 'O and Salamander as well, but wanted a nice piece of real furniture for my display as opposed to MDF or veneer stands (which most of the other brands are selling for similar prices as the Standout stand). Expensive, but definitely worth it. I have a 60" Pioneer Elite Kuro that looks great on it. Also, Alan in sales was fantastic to deal with. A no-brainer.

+1 on the n702.

I purchased one several months back in black. Not cheap, but the very highest quality. I am very picky, and I am well satisfied.

I needed a large center shelf space for a large Klipsch center speaker.
I wanted something that could hold a heavy 65 inch plasma.
I wanted something that looked good and would be around for a while

So,
The large Klipsch center channel fits in nicely.
The n702 is 'easily' holding a new panny 65 v10.
Thing is built to last forever (or at least as long as I am using it)

I love the n702; no regrets.

Mine does not have the wheels, but the the rest of the unit is the same. I would suggest you order the free samples (yes, they are free!) to see the colors and what the wood quality is like.

As far as deals go, wait until one pops up to your liking.
I forget what my deal was, but I waited until one came up and it was worth waiting for - maybe a couple of hundred or so off of the unit and shipping combined?

Here are some pictures: (Yes, I am running the break-in images)

Yes, that is the smoke glass.
It falls somewhere between 'no tint' and a 'dark tint'. It is dark enough where you can see the tint during the day, but it is light enough so you can still see your hardware lights when it is turned on. For example, I have my cable box in there and can still see the time and channel through the glass.

If I remember correctly, when I bought my n702 earlier this year they have a darker glass available for some units other than the n702, and though they do not list it, they can provide it for the n702 - just send an email to them to see if they can still do that if you are interested in that. I went back and forth on that, but was concerned it may be too dark to see the hardware lights.

some more pics:

74.jpg shows the cabinet hardware and glass - top quality - and the passive air cooling holes/ducts in front of the receiver.
77.jpg shows the same passive air cooling air holes/ducts at the bottom front of the unit
78.jpg shows the passive air cooling exit space at the back of the unit.

I was concerned that maybe this unit would get too hot inside (though they sell a fan cooling unit that fits on the back if it does get hot, so I bought the unit anyway). But, I placed a thermometer in there, and with my denon receiver and cable box (both throw off a load of heat) it never gets over 79 in there with the passive cooling ducts and rear exit space. One can always leave the rear panel off as well.

some more pics:

79.jpg shows a view through the unit to that rear cooling exit space.
81.jpg shows this background lighting thing i did (if you are interested). I found an under the cabinet plug-in flourescent light fixture at Lowes for less than $10 and put a 6500k bulb (found that at Lowes too) in there for correct light temperature.
82.jpg shows the tv with that background light; just enough to cast a nice glow on the wall and make watching the tv easier - and I think it makes the tv picture look better (my wife, who does not notice ANYTHING, noticed the positive differrence with that background light).

Let me know if you need any other pictures or have any other questions.

Hey Guys,
I'm getting ready to click the button to purchase the Horizon N702 XL. Does anyone have any recommendations on a nice side audio rack that would fit? I'm looking for a 4-shelve rack, something that will fit nice with this N702. I have a lot of component audio equipment, that is why I need the additional rack. I'm getting the N702 because of its sturdy solid wood design not to mention everyone here has rated Standout Designs highly!

Thanks in advance!
