RDR-HX750 must be on to watch TV

Hi All.

I just bought a RDR-HX750 which I have hooked thru a BELL Expressvu Sat Receiver to my TV. The problem is I have to turn on my DVD Recorder to watch TV even if I do not plan on recording. Without it on I get no Video or Audio.

I have the Bell Sat receiver hooked into Line 1 and I am using Svideo cable.

any ideas out there? Is this normal for Pvr's?

Thanks for helping.

Check Sketch 4 here for a connection schematic.

This gives your DVDR and Sat box their own connection to the TV.

That's right. Then, your DVDR doesn't have to be on to see TV thru the receiver. Type of connection to TV depends on what your receiver allows and your personal prefs.
