I'd like a sound card to pass digitial multichannel audio to my 5.1 AVR (via coax or optical) for playback of DVDs and music/video content streamed from the Internet (i.e. via hulu.com, rhapsody, etc.)
Will any sound card with SPDIF out do, or are there other factors such as support for DD/DTS, compatibility with media players, etc.? (I'm not yet sure what media player to use, but am looking at WMC, XBMC, etc., and in some cases may play direct from a Web browser.)
