Need help / advice for my sony wega. Brightness issue / brown spot. Please!

My screen on my Sony KDF-50E2000 is not getting as bright as it used to! I have to turn the brightness up all the way on everything i watch, also, i noticed a brown spot in the top right corner! Is there anything i can do to fix this? I'm kinda new to all of this, any help, advise or anything at all is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like the lamp is on the way out. Do you know how many hours of use? The spot is probably also related to the lamp.

the bulb is def due for a changing, the spot to be more clear is a brownish bluish translucent spot that merges into a more brown line across the top that fades away, and a slight spot on the top left corner, both like splotches.

My 42A10 had bluish and yellowish splotches about a year ago, and the optical block had to be replaced. I had an extended warranty which covered the repair, but without the warranty, the cost would not have been worth it. I hope that isn't your problem. These sets are an example of unproven technology which turned out to be a nightmare for buyers.
