Samsung 40-47 inch led-backlit tv anytime soon?

I absolutely love the Samsung un8500 series, but 55 inches is just too large for my living room. I had my eye on the un40b600 until I read reviews, and the issues that people seme to be having. It seems to me that a back-lit, local-dimming tv, would satisfy me. Anyone know if samsung has any plans for a 40-46 inch tv that would boast all the same technology as the un8500?

ps-I've seen the lg47lh90 at 2 different stores, but each time it's running a very low-grade connection, or not running a decent demo.

I'm in the same boat as you, I want a 40 inch LED back lit but at a reasonable price. I believe LG is coming out with a replacement model for the LH90 next year and Samsung should really get these models out too because there are alot of folks who want smaller screens with this technology.

The 8500 is currently available in a 46" size.

Yeah there is the un46b8500. Defintiely sounds like what you are looking for. Price might be a little steep at around $3k + but many say it is the best led lcd on the market right now.

I am in the same boat as well. I want a 47 inch, and I am deciding between the $1800 Samsung and the LG 47lh90, which is $1400. Is LG a good brand for TVs? I know Samsungs are good, but that is a $400 difference.
