Upgrade Infocus 4805 to Optoma HD200x ???

Been very happy with my Infocus 4805 but looking to upgrade to the Optoma HD200x 1080p projector. Which seems to be the Canadian version of the HD20. Has anyone else made this upgrade? Does the HD200x use the same DarkChip2 that is used in the 4805? I'm just wondering how much of an upgrade this will be? I know there is much more to picture quality than simple resolution. Is the HD200x picture quality inferior to the 4805 in any way?

Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I upgraded from a optoma h31 projector which was comparable to the 4805, i now have the optoma hd200x and it is a big upgrade, the picture is so much sharper due to the resolution and the picture has so much more pop, i see your from Canada too, so order it from costco if you don't like you can take it back without any questions asked, i am sure you will like it.

Thanks tdog, yes I know the H31 is pretty much the same as the 4805 because I was trying to decide between those 2 when I purchased the 4805. Nice to hear the HD200x is a good upgrade. How do you find the black levels and shadow detail? I still haven't confirmed if the HD200x has the dark chip 2 or not?

It has the dark chip 2. I have been using the settings from guitarman http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1175774
and it looks great. Also as the bulb dims the blacks will get better, some people use a nd filter for the first 100 hours. I myself am close to the 100 hours mark and i think the blacks and shadow detail is good now.

Well I just upgraded from the 4805 to an hd65.(couldn't pass it up for $600)
First off, make sure it will work in your room, Throw and offset are nowhere near the 4805.
I realize your asking about the hd20, but I can tell you there is a big difference in blacks and shadow detail on the 65. I actually thought I would see the bigger difference in color and resolution on the 65, and it is better, but not the night and day difference I was expecting. That 4805 throws a really nice pic for a low res projector. The black levels and shadow are a worthy upgrade though. I would guess about the same for the hd20
