I am not sure the final price has been figured out yet. But soon.
The Danley version will offer another exit option on the finished product.
This was left out of the kit version-because it would add additional cost. But it could easily be added if somebody wanted to.
That way y ou could lay it on the floor and put your couch/recliner etc on top of it and have the sound dome out along the floor.
Availability is like now. Just place an order. We are kinda holding off a little bit untill Brandon and Josh build their kits and see if they have any "issues" with them-and if something should be changed to amke it easier.
The ones they will be getting are exactly the same as the prototype that the shop built (as we have measured)-so we know it goes together with no problem-at least by the regular cabinet builders who build the rest of our products.
Assembly should not really take very long. Since all the pieces are precut-all you have to do is lay down the glue-screw/nail-go to the next piece.
I would imagine actual "build time" from start to finish (assembly) should be an hour or two.
Now that does not include finishing-such as rounding off corner (if desired) sanding (if desired)-actual finish material (laminate/paint/stain etc or drying time for the glue. Then you mount the drivers and wire up-so another 10-20 minutes.
If you don't care about a "finished looking product (such as if it were to be hidden in the attic/wall etc-you could do it in a morning (and take a break and shower before lunch)-if you have some basic skills.
Of course I have not actually built one yet-so I could be off on those times-but from building other tapped horns-that is my judgement.
Remember-the pieces will all "fall into place" with the rabbitts and dados.
I am going to build one of the kits with my son (who has NO wood working experience) and see how well he does-with some guidance.
