Sure, hope I am correct. I have attached the max SPL of 4 x ED 19 Ov.2 sealed, in a 700L box same vol as the "DTS-10". (maybe some would load it into smaller cabs).
Pe = 1kW per driver...sorry would have used 1.2kW but I realised it too late. I think its only 600Wrms per driver or something. Max SPL would observe max excursion + max power.
DTS-10, I use 2kW program (+33dB)DTS-10
(to stay within Xmax as Tom mentioned we dig only to 16Hz)
16Hz = 95dB + 33dB is 128dB. Z is 4 ohms so its 125dB
25Hz = 100dB + 33dB is 133dB. Z is 10 ohms. Take it as 133dB
30Hz = 104dB + 33dB is 137dB. Z is 3 ohms. Minus ~ 4dB 133dB
55Hz = 107dB + 33dB is 140dB
You can more or less guess the max SPL graph. You can -3dB by using 1kW too.
Take 16Hz. DTS-10 is 125dB, 4 x 18 ED is 116dB. As noah said WinISD simulation could deviate a bit from reality, but its quite a difference here. Hence IMO there is quite a lead for the DTS-10 from 16 to 80Hz.
Mk is powering it at about 650Wpc for his 8 drivers, 4 x EP2500.
In Mktheatre's case, he does get the benefit with 8 discrete subs (multi sub) and more flexibility in placement to ensure a smoother response. However you may lose quite a lot of the efficiency gain due to mutual coupling bt the drivers esp when you go up in freq. Anyway its already way above ref. So depends on one's needs.
Of course all this is on paper. MK pls don't hold me hostage it if is not what you want in real life.
