Ultimate Media Server

Hey all I am beginning to build for my store and for my customers a seamless media server... I have tried taking what everyone loves, and hates about media servers and essentially put that all the parts they love into one unique box. Right now i have a model up and fully working that is able to rip and playback BD and DVD, stream all my music and pictures and syncs with my URC MX-6000. What i would like from you is what you want to see in a media server. My media server is called the Mach (1, 2, & 3 according to features and speed). Here is some of the things on the board for the upcoming versions, i want to offer customers the option of having a PS3, Wii, or XBox360 added on internally for a) the coolness b) making it all quick and easy to get to.

The server i currently have up and running uses Win Media Center as its base... i just need to automate a few things... (computer programmers anyone??? ha ha ha ha) please come on here telling me what you want to see on this media server give me ideas!

I think one of my biggest problem with most HTPC or media streamers is the slow interface. Its not uncommon for people to have thousands of music, video, and photos and navigating through on a machine that is not quick is very annoying. If your building a htpc, nothing prevents this more than having a regular disc based HDD. This is were having a SSD (preferably Intel models) for the OS and basic media programs can go a long way to improving the "ultimate" HTPC. This is where HTPC's, when designed right, have so much more to offer than media streamers that may not offer keyboard support or a good UI to easily maneuver through the large number of files efficiently or painlessly. You can get this now with products from Niveus Media, but it will cost you an arm and leg.

brad,

rather than worry about your build for store, why don't you fix your ebay screwups. if you paid more attention to that instead of posting here, maybe you wouldn't ship out the wrong tara labs cables and wouldn't screw buyers by leaving USPS postage due on the box.

no it has not been dealt with. you still owe me for postage due and my hassle to go get the package from the post office to pay the postage due. your business dealings are very immature and negligent, so i will point it out to anyone who thinks you are a stand up business man.

Perhaps you should take this to PM or call him. This is certainly not the place to talk about this.
