Polk PSW10 sucks! Changing direction, HELP!

Hey I recently received my Polk PSW10 and I now wish I had listened to some of the online complaints because the port noise and general mediocrity of this thing is almost unbearable. So, Im considering selling it and purchasing a new sub.

Ones i have in mind are the Polk PSW110 for $150, PSW111 for $180, PSW125 for $210 Klipsch SW350 for $210, and Klipsch RW 10d for $280...

I was on a budget to begin with, which is why i anded up with the PSW10 that i got for $120 so im wondering what you guys think would be the best sub for me as far as value at of those i listed.

I live in an apartment on the 2nd floor (business below me so noise isnt an issue through floor) and the room is about 15X15 (no wall between living room and kitchen, whole area would be 15x30ish)

I listen to 50% movies, 40% gaming, 10% music.

thanks guys

most people around here will want you to save more and get a better sub from an ID company. Look into Hsu, SVS, ED and some of the other well respected ID companies that are out there. Also look up the pa-120 as well as maybe the BIC h-100. There are not a lot of great subs out there in the under $300 range.

It sounds like you are getting a discount on these polk and klipsch subs as they are not the retail rpice for them. I have a psw110 and wish i would have saved for something better. I have not heard the klipsch so i can not really comment on them.

Thanks for the input pjones.

Yea i do have a discount on this stuff right now (polk and Klipsch) and the window is closing on it. Friday is my last day at my current job so im trying to get out of here with some good stuff while i can.

Do yourself a favor and ignore all of those cheap Polks. None of them will be a giant leap up from the PSW10 you have now. Of the subs you've listed, the Klipsch RW-10d is probably the best choice. There are better options if you're willing to consider other subs, though.

If you're looking for great output for the buck, look at the Premier Acoustics PA-120. It'll get you strong output and pretty decent extension to a little below 25hz.

If "tightness" or musicality it your number one priority, the Hsu STF-1 is a good choice. It won't get as low or as loud as the PA-120 but it'll probably sound a big better.

The RW10d, PA-120, and STF-1 should all be better than the PSW10 you have now. Assuming your budget is <$300, those are good choices.
