I have a very small and oddly shaped living room. The back wall only extends through half of the room, which opens to a larger room, so half of the back of the couch is exposed. Also, the TV is being mounted on the wall and I don't want to have any bulky speakers on a stand or mounted to the wall. For this reason I'm looking for a very compact system or soundbar. I was told that a soundbar would be best for my needs, but the good ones seem to cost a fortune. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a good soundbar that will produce decent surround sound and be loud enough to fill up a room. Or is there a decent 5.1 system that has very compact speakers, or a 2.1 system that is able to produce decent surround sound? I'm not looking to spend more than $600 if possible, but can increase my budget if there are no good options in that range.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
