Trying to stay under 1500 Bucks I know what i have listed below is not the BEST but.... taking time going to ebay and waiting for sales just to get what I want

This is what I want to build, need help cause the closest stores to go and check these out are 2.5 hours away..

Id say Im more into the bass but do like clarity and no distortion, will be used for 60% movies and 40% Music....

I want Star Trek to sound AUSSUM and Metallica to ROCK with all the same system...SO IS THIS IT???

Front L&R...... Energy FPS
Center Channel....... Infintiy CC225
Both Sides and Rears.... Energy C100

Sub at least a 12" or maybe the Energy ESW-10

I have an onkyo Tx-SR806 the UPS just blessed me with the smorning.....going to go into a 24x28 detatched garage/movie theater

Info would me be much appreciated...PEACE!

If you can build your own stuff, wait to see what augerpro comes up with. He's working on a 2way using a 12" woofer and compression driver on a wave guide.

If you can't wait, Cerwin Vega may be worth looking at. You'll hear people dog on them, but if you want Metallica to rock, CV's do a good job. And if you get towers with 12 or 15" woofers, you can get away with not having a sub while listening to metallica. Movies, however, will always need a sub, no matter how good the mains are.

BTW, you were mentioning getting a sub of either 10-12"...with that big of a room, forget it. Twin 15's with at least 1kw of power would be a good start. You can get some "AUSSUM" and "ROCK" with that, and a lot more if you jump up to twin 18's and at least 2kw of power.

Appreicate the input never heard of those and just did a little research.

I want to have hanging speakers.. and I do really like the way the Energy FPS looks, do you think the package listed above would sound good and beings its detached garage/HT near neighbors.... Im after GREAT sounding but dont have to be REALLY Jamming Loud, Thanks again!

The real secret is to not try buying everything at once. If you do you'll end up sacrificing in one area or another.

My advice would be to start with a good subwoofer and two mains. Do yourself a favor and just get two good bookshelf or towers and a high quality sub. I'm assuming you already have a receiver or does that come out of the $1500 too?

I already have the receiver allowing 1500 for speakers...might just try your idea and get the FPS 2 fronts and a good 12" sub

thanks
