Tekken 6 for 360 or PS3 ? Thats the question!

Hey guys, i want to ask, Tekken 6 is better on the 360 or on the PS3? because usually games that come out on both the 360 and PS3 and much better on the 360 because they are built for the 360 and then they just convert it for the PS3 to create a PS3 version of the game, what is the case this time? regardless of which console's controller is better, the game itself, where does it run better/loo better , on the PS3 or 360?

So yea, which version are YOU guys getting? I didn't decide yet . I'm leaning towards the ps3 version for some reason tho, because tekken has always been a playtation exslusive and they might have made the game better for the ps3

Thanks

These kinds of questions boil down to...

Are your friends getting it, if so what system do the have?
And the other question is, what controller do you prefer? Unless you have an arcade stick.

Only you can answer these questions.

For me though, I'm going to pass on this and wait for SSF IV. I never bought SFIV, and I'm glad I waited.

The arcade hardware is basically a PS3 so... I dunno.

If I were to get it, it'd be on PS3... because I already have PS3 joysticks... but it's your call.

most ps3 games port to 360 much smoother than vice versa and in some cases they come out better.

Pretty similar looking in screenshots.

With motion blur on, both are 1024x576.

With it off, PS3 is 1024x576 w/ 2xMSAA. 360 is 1365x768 no AA. Everything I've read said the game looks good in motion, so I would probably leave the motion blur on. PS3 gets the nod if you are going to play with it off.

This one should boil down to controller and friends.

No I don't want any arcade sticks. I'm Gonna use the controller, I have friends buying the game for both system so I can't decide, but I'm askin which game will be better all in all, this time I think the 360 version is the port of the ps3 version no? Cuz tekken was always a PS exslusive

Solo or online play? if you want to play online the 360 community is HUGE. I can still find people playing VF5 and it sold what 30K copies?

Tekken is an arcade game, the PS3 and 360 version are both ports.

well, what do you expect, every Tekken game that ever hit arcades has been released on some type of playstation.

If street fighter 4 is any indication, i would buy it for the 360 for the sole reason of load times.
On SF4, the load screens prior to each matchup was like a 15 second moment of silence for the PS3.
On the 360, as soon as the guy finishes his line like "this is going to be a great matchup" and the sound clip finishes, the match starts right away.

It is a DRASTIC difference. You can blaze through arcade mode in almost half the time on the 360 simply because of those load screens.

the review on IGN said load times are pretty much equal on this one, it got an 8.8 btw, u can check the video review on IGN

Played Tekken 6 for a little bit (long time Tekken fan, since the first game) and this just does not feel the same, hard to explain but it does not feel like Tekken to me. It also feels very unbalanced, Bob is crazy strong (as well as some of the other characters). I am not impressed with the graphics either, I was expecting more after seeing what a nice job they did with the re-worked Tekken 5 on the PS3. Decent game but over-all it's a little disappointing .

So what you are saying is if you havent done Tekken 5, go pick that up for about $8 instead?
Well I think Tekken 5 is still $20 on PSN (not sure?) but honestly Tekken 6 is more like Tekken 5.5 than a whole new game. So if you have not played Tekken 5 and you are unsure about 6 I would say grab 5 first because you will not be missing much . I have both 5 and 6 and I feel that 5 was worth every penny at $20 but 6 feels more like it could have been a patch or an add-on for 5. Tekken 6 has some nice lighting effects but I think I prefer the cleaner/sharper lines of 5, 6 has some blur to it that bothers me a bit (even with the motion blur setting turned off).

Sounds like an easy choice. Ive read so many posts over the last 3 years, are you the one that mentioned a ways back Tekken was best fighting engine ever. Just curious to see if my memory still works. Never played any fighting games except Super street Fighter and Soul Calibur.

Hehe, no that was not me regarding the best fighting engine ever, luv Tekken but not sure I would go that far .

The big problem with Tekken 5 is the absence of a large online community. If you've got friends to play locally with, great. Otherwise, Tekken 5 is just a singleplayer warm-up for Tekken 6.

But, yeah, no big graphical or gameplay jump.

dude get tekken 6 for sure, doesnt matter u got tekken 5 or not, u GOTTA have tekken 6 in your collection if you are a TRUE tekken fan (i am, i had tekken since PS1 when i was a little kid).

besides ,i got my Hori real arcade pro 3 arcade stick yesterday so i gotta try that with tekken aswell and see how it plays (i got a killer deal on it on craigslist lol)

I got forza and it is the best game I've played yet on this system. I'll be getting tekken as well
post #23 of 24
Tekken 6 showed up last night from Gamefly. I played for a couple hours last night and at the moment I'm not impressed. The graphics don't even look at good as DOA4 at times. The gameplay itself doesn't seem like the same Tekken I remember playing on PS1 and PS2. I am using the SF4 Tourney stick and getting rocked online. It seems if someone sets up a string of combos that's the match. Half the time I think people are just button mashing. The online play has been hit or miss. It really shows how good the netcode is in SF4.
