'The League' on FXX HD - Page 5

I'd say it was a return we all could get behind...

Arrgh! Missed it!

Watch it on Hulu.

The double episodes last night were great I thought. Especially the very end of the last episode when Deion Sanders comes home. I can't remember the last time I laughed like that.

"Ruxin, you have AIDS"

That gave me a great laugh. Even the doctors on this show are complete dicks!

Two solid funny episodes this week with good callbacks to early episodes, plenty of funny one liners and great scenes such as the mall shopping, Witchy Woman, Kevin crying and Brooklyn Decker being a really convincing horrible bitch.

And yeah ... "Dude, I don't know who you are but you're about to get chlamydia!"

It also makes me laugh remembering all the people who lodged complaints about the episode when Lily swore on Modern Family. If that group had any clue what the kids on The League get up to they would never stop complaining!

Finally caught up with the final 4 episodes of the season and loved it. Brooklyn Decker is a b*tch! But I hate Pete anyway, so it was fun seeing him get owned. Raffi was awesome every time he showed up, especially when he was stealth-punching people in the junk. I'd say the season ended on a high note, but it didn't. It ended on a hilarious brown note instead. Show got picked up for another season, so I look forward to seeing who they get to play the character of the Shiva winner. I'm assuming they're going to show him.

FX’s ‘The League’ Renewed For Fifth Season
By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Thursday December 20, 2012 @ 9:46am PST

Ahead of tonight’s hourlong Season 4 finale of The League, FX has renewed the fantasy football league comedy series for a fifth season with a 13-episode order. “The League is flat-out one of the funniest shows on television,” said FX’s EVP Original Programming Nick Grad. “Another season was an easy decision and we hope to have it on our schedule for many more years to come.” On a first-run basis, Season 4 is averaging 1.63 million total viewers and 1.45 million adults 18-49. On a multi-run total basis, the fourth season is delivering about 2.43 million Total Viewers and 2.09 million Adults 18-49 per week. “It’s a dream job — we get to make a show we love with a brilliant cast on a fearless network,” said Jackie Schaffer, who co-created the series with husband Jeff Schaffer. “If the Mayans and Dirty Randy are right and the world ends tomorrow, at least we can say we made it to Season 5.”

The League has been renewed for season six!

And it's moving to a new channel!

FXX. A new sister channel to FX starting this Fall!

Thanks for the update, VisionOn.

Any news regarding other FX comedies such as It's Always Sunny and Wilfred? (Could search for myself.)

Sunny is moving too.

Fantastic. Let's just hope most providers carry an HD version of the new channel at no additional charge. Would be a let down if FXX-HD costs extra or not offered.
You know, that's exactly what I was thinking. If we all get FXX, will we have to wait another year for FXX-HD like usual?

Darn. Lets hope that's not the case. John Landgraf seems like a smart and good businessman, hopefully he works it out with providers well.

Agreed. This show has continued to get better. I started watching it from the beginning because I play fantasy sports and my wife told me to check it out. Now that it's more about other things and less about fantasy football, I find myself enjoying it more.

Kevin Pollak had Jason Mantzoukas as a guest on his chat show. It's a usual two hour affair that's worth listening to but if you want to go straight to the origins of Rafi and making The League jump to 1:22.

"Woah no! You can do a lot, but you cannot have incest on this show!" biggrin.gif

With a new season a few days away now is a good time to be prepared.

http://www.getfxx.com/

According to that site FXX and FXXHD will be in this area on Monday, but the channel number seems peculiarly low and does not conform to the channel categories in use.

"Starting September 2nd, FXX will be available through Time Warner Cable on channel 511 and channel 536 HD."

Hmm.

I know some people don't care for his character, but I personally think he's the best one on the show. I love when he is part of an episode which is rare.
Kinda like how when I was a kid I loved when Batgirl would be on the old Batman show. Well, for slightly different reasons. wink.gif

People don't like Rafi? Fools.

So much for GetFXX. Found the new channel in my lineup at 314/1314. No guide data yet just a marathon of Parks and Rec.

It's going to be interesting to see the ratings if the network cannot even get the information for their own channel correct and a lot of providers are not even carrying it. I guess they anticipated the S5 numbers would be terrible so that's why they renewed the show for S6.

I found it on Directv, but also no program listing so I can't set a timer for The League.

Hmm, I set mine several days ago, when it was still the other channel. Just checked and it's still there (on Directv.)

I'm going to ask for a thread title change to include the new channel, FXX HD.

Directv now has the correct programming data. Season Pass setup and ready to go. Last season started with some bean-rubbing. Can't wait to see how they start this one.

Raffi "It's like wiping peanut butter out of a shag carpet"

TiVo was going to miss this and Sunny, had to create new Season Passes.

Did anyone else spot Kroll trying not to laugh as he was faced with the Domination league? biggrin.gif

And was it just in my head or was the "Run rabbit, run" a reference to A House of 1000 Corpses?

I did not take notice, good eyes you got there tongue.gif

I wonder if the HIV/AIDs community is outraged by the cast member with the disease who is always being "put down." We need more of Jenny in that swim suit biggrin.gif
