'The League' on FXX HD - Page 4

Rafi shouting "Gattaca" was funny at first too, but I think they kind of ruined the joke by talking about it. It would have been funnier to just let him keep shouting his mistake without Pete an Taco explaining it.

Finally got to the latest episode on my DVR. I've grown tired of the Pete character, so pretty much any scene he's the main focus of feels blahh to me. Overall not an episode I'll remember much about. The white-guy-working-at-a-Japanese-restaurant joke has been done many times. Meh. Kevin and Jenny stole the episode for me. The diaper changing scene was pure The League. I loved when Kevin's competition walks in, sees it, doesn't get really disgusted, and then leaves by saying, "That doesn't count...but I'm going to try it."

I'm still laughing over the whole "I got it in my tailpipe" line. biggrin.gif

Awesome episode! This was the funniest of the season, IMO.

Rafi is the best supporting character on TV, hands down. It used to be Jean-Ralphio on Parks & Recreation, but Jason Mantzoukas kills it as Rafi...scene stealer 100% of the time.

"J-off party? Let's do this...I like where this is going."
Rafi had some excellent moments this episode. The breakup attempt, kissing Sofia and the coup de grace at the end were hilarious!

"forever unclean!"

A little bit of Rafi goes a long way, so I hope they don't overuse him this season.

I'd think that the audience that watches this show was much less likely to understand the "Attica" reference than the Gattica reference, so discussing the movie didn't strike me as explaining the joke.

Good episode. I haven't had lice in the longest, thankfully.
Just caught up on the last two episodes. I really liked the breast milk episode, but I thought the Lice/Judge episode was stupid except for the part when Fitzpatrick showed up and threw an INT to end the game...no wait, that was in the Bills-Pats game today. He was funny correcting Ruxin, but I just didn't buy Ruxin getting dumber. Mehhh.

I was wondering if he was on the verge of another stroke.

I did love the stroke episode.

The penis stuff was a bit over the top? eek.gif

The guy named Seed and his imaginary friend. Good episode.
It was among the silliest episodes, and I liked it a lot.

I find "The Seed" to be a much better obnoxious character than Rafi. I'm in the extreme minority, but the less I see of Rafi the better.

I'm starting to wonder if this show is some kind of grand sociological experiment.

The main cast is a bunch of dorks, but they know it and revel in it and they're a lot of fun.

But uh-oh, here come the high school bullies - who turn out to be a bunch of dorks, but they don't know it.

And the lot of them are football fans. Is that the lesson of the day? Football fans are all a bunch of dorks, whether they know it or not?

Perhaps the message is that we are all dorks?smile.gif

Just watched the latest episode. Loved the callback to Jenny's rubbing of the bean.

Agreed. Any episode of any show with J.B. Smoove is likely to impress.

This episode reminded me a lot of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Even without the JB guest appearance. I could really see Larry David arguing about who had more of a right to take the treaded sneakers and finding himself with a racist piano. Especially when everything collided at the end.

Reminded me more of Seinfeld. Well a more raunchy Seinfeld. Complete with run away wheelchair crash.

Is Nadine Velasquez still on this show?

She was just in an episode about a month ago "The Breastalyzer" on November 1st.

Yeah, I kept expecting Larry David to jump out at any moment. I thought the episode was funny, but it was not in the normal "style".
I kept thinking Larry David must have died and this was a tribute show or something. I liked it.

Taco being the psychologist was funny. Did not watch the 2nd episode, saving that for tonight.

I don't care if it was a body double but the first episode had a great opening.

If you haven't seen any of Jon Lajoie (Taco) videos on youtube... check them out, now.

NSFW language - but hilarious

For someone that is barely on the show anymore, that was one hell of a return for her. eek.gif
