where to look up which controllers are compatibile with games

i like using the nunchuck and wii remote last unless its a sports game . most fighting games and action or adventure games i like to use the classic controller or gamecube controller. wheres a site to look at which controllers are compatible with a game ? ive tried gamestop.com and bestbuy all they do is give you info on the game like the reviews and stuff and what the game is about.

i know on the back of the games you can see which controllers will work with that game but online its hard to find a back part of the game and ive noticed before on different games where the gamecube controller was compatible even though the icon wasnt on the top part of the back of the box.

Hmm I'm not sure. Good idea for sites to start showing that though.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo.com tells you this. I am certain that the Wii Shop Channel and the Nintendo Channel on the Wii both do as well.

Nintendo Channel is a good source. Since it was updated recently, I believe you can search for specific games to get info/see videos/purchase (not buy via Nintendo, but thru various online retailers - WalMart, GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, etc - that link up w/ the Nintendo Channel). Have yet to come across any currently available game that the Channel did not have at least some info on - both disc titles & VC/WiiWare.

But every game they give info for on Nintendo Channel lists every pertinent detail - number of players, whether it has WFC support of any kind, controller compatibility/options, etc. And it's all available to you on your Wii.

Nintendo.com has instructions on using the new Nintendo Channel, too, I believe, if it's relatively new to you.

Also, gotta say they bumped up video quality on it when the update happened. Makes you think the eventual (according to some in the biz) Netflix deal hits Wii, the movie streaming - albeit 480p max - should look pretty good.

Wikipedia articles for games usually list compatible controllers under "input methods" in that info box in the upper-right as well.
