Paradigm Sub 1 and Sub 2 - Page 2

I don't think a lot of people will be cross-shopping the ED A7-900 and the Sub 1/Sub 2. Ported vs. sealed, 2 huge drivers vs. 6 small drivers, huge prism-shaped enclosure vs. small hexagonal enclosure.

The JL Gotham is a closer comparison to the Sub 2. The upcoming SVS SB16-Ultra should be a good comparison to the Sub 1. Anyone spending that kind of money on a sub probably already has their mind made up on ported vs. sealed.

Does anyone know when Sub 1 and Sub 2 will be shipping? I have heard that Paradigm has a production delay for these two products.

so is the sub 25 a place holder for the sub 1? Isn't the sub 1 less expensive?

would a pair of sub 1's achieve greater spl over a single sub 2 at a lesser cost?

the sub 1 is an upgrade for the sub 15. the sub 2 is an upgrade for the sub 25.

how is the sub 1 not an upgrade over the sub25? isn't it bigger and more powerfull?

i'm just confused as to why it's cheaper

So has anyone bought the Sub1 or Sub2 ? Any impressions on the subs ?

I have been told by my dealer that it will not be avaiable until around Dec. 21, 2009. Sub 2 looks like a great sub.

I wish i could own 2 sub 25's and get a sub 2, I need to get a better job lol

Adding the last component to my speaker upgrade. I have purchased all Paradigm and Anthem gear so would like to stick with a Paradigm sub. Any opinions on if I should go with the Sub 25 or Sub 2?

sub 2, this tri design works well for martain logan(x3 ten" woofers) the sub 2 is using 6, so its going to be something special.

i've been strongly considering going all out and getting the Sub1.... hmm time will tell

Okay, but the sub2's bass is more like Maxell than Memorex:

all out would be a sub 2. for my on wall setup I would probally benefit more by using the sub 1 or 2 over the Sub 25. in theory i should be able to crossover the sub 1/2 higher than the Sub 25. this would make up for the lack of midbass.

I received the following email from Piero at Anthem/Paradigm last week in response to my question about status.

No official date, but they have been testing a sub one for the last two weeks in a separate anechoic chamber about 100 ft from my office. Open the door of the chamber and the ceiling tiles shake, the dry wall is rattling and my co workers are complaining that they can't concentrate with the 747 that's parked in the factory!

I have ordered one as an evaluation purchase.

Decided to go with the Sub 2. Order went in today. I am told I might have it before New Year's.

Boy, that brought back a lot of memories. I was on the Memorex account at their ad agency from the beginning of the "Is it Live" campaign. I remember we were so late with the first ad in the series that I had to hand carry the proofs to San Jose from Chicago. It was either that or a blank page in Playboy. Needless to say we made it.

Has there been any confirmation about New Year's delivery?

I am now hearing it ships before year end (maybe next week some time).

Just learned that I am 1 of 5 in the entire world that have placed an order for the Sub 2. They are telling me ships the week after New Year's (best case). I am not getting my hopes up.

i thought they were still testing those subs?
