Looks like I'm getting mixed messages about my video driver:
(WW) RADEON(0): [agp] AGP not available
(EE) RADEON(0): [agp] AGP failed to initialize. Disabling the DRI.
(II) RADEON(0): [agp] You may want to make sure the agpgart kernel module
is loaded before the radeon kernel module.
(II) RADEON(0): [drm] removed 1 reserved context for kernel
(II) RADEON(0): [drm] unmapping 8192 bytes of SAREA 0xf80a7000 at 0xb7837000
(II) RADEON(0): [drm] Closed DRM master.
(II) RADEON(0): RADEONRestoreMemMapRegisters() :
(II) RADEON(0): MC_FB_LOCATION : 0xefffe800 0x1fff0000
(II) RADEON(0): MC_AGP_LOCATION : 0xffffffc0
(==) RADEON(0): Backing store disabled
(WW) RADEON(0): Direct rendering disabled
name of display: :0.0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
So dmesg is telling me that the AGP driver was not installed and thus DRI is disabled and glxinfo is telling me that DRI is turned on.
I'm tending to believe that DRI is off because the performance I'm seeing is consistant with it being off.
Unfortunately, Xorg has changed so radically that everything I used to know about it is now worthless. I don't even know where to start on this issue now.
Does anyone know how to change the order that the modules load in so that I can try to get the AGP module to load earlier????
For that matter, does anyone know the name of the modules and where they're located now because they've changed the locations and names of a bunch of stuff so I'm even having trouble finding anything??
