I love my Onkyo TX-NR5000 and DV-SP1000 although I feel I got burnt on Onkyo's "Future Proof" claims but I am wanting to add Blu-ray to take advantage of the high quality codecs and hd video.
Problem is my receiver has older HDMI and doesn't support the new codecs. So I am looking at the Denon DBP-4010UDCI and AVR-4810CI.
My question is....will the AVR-4810CI be too much of a downgrade amp/sound wise from my Onkyo? Should I just keep my Onkyo receiver and hook up the Denon Blu-ray via 7.1 analog cables?
I would consider the AVR-5308CI but it came out almost 2 years ago and doesn't even have DL4. I would hate to buy it and then the new model comes out right after. Is there any news on ETA of replacement model?
