I tried Googling and searching the forums but couldn't find an answer to this question.

I have an Onkyo HT-S770 HTIB with its HT-R520 receiver and 10" subwoofer (in a corner). I've owned the unit for five years and have never had any problems until recently when I noticed the subwoofer bass has been extremely low. I can barely hear it and can't feel anything.

Tonight I did some testing with several output devices and media sources, including a THX audio test. I tried a different high-quality RCA audio cable, but no luck. Here are my settings:

Speaker config
- Subwoofer: yes
- (All other speakers): small
- Crossover: 100hz
Level Cal
- Subwoofer: +12 db
Audio Adjust
- Double Bass: On
- Cinema Filter: Off
- Late Night: Off
Subwoofer volume knob
- 60%

When I turn the subwoofer volume knob all the way up it makes little difference. I've also removed the subwoofer's RCA audio cable and touched the back of the receiver with it which makes a fairly loud hum.

Any ideas on what I can try to get the subwoofer working at a decent level again?

If the receiver's defective, should I replace it with the Onkyo TX-SR507?
