I love klipsch which is in my living room. Just exploring options for an upgrade to my newly built Home theatre.

Infinity Primus P362 and its voice-matching center channel Infinity Primus P162 would be fun to start with (on sale for great price at crutchfield website with some excellent customer service).

I'm looking at putting a Definitive Technology Supercube II with the above speakers. This powered subwoofer is sealed enclosure with passive radiators, which is why it comes with a huge amount of power. This woofer can go extremely low. If anyone can comment on my selections, that would be cool, too.

IMO Klipsch has a unique sound which people tend to love or hate. Since you love them, why not buy more Klipsch in your price range?

Have you auditioned other speakers? I'd recommend going to a high-end dealer (because lower end show rooms are acoustically undependable) and listening to everything they have in your price range. Bring your own CD's (male and female vocals) and listen through a receiver similarly powered to yours.

Be sure to listen to music both with and without a sub going.

30% music to me suggest (to me) that you should compare based on music first, then compare the ones you like with HT.

This should either disabuse or confirm your love of Klipsch.

Good luck & have fun!

Thanks guys.....I was looking for more specific advice/recomendations...EX: Paradigm Monitor 9,Klipsch RF-82 etc.... that would justify the Onkyo 807 .....

If you enjoy Klipsch, definately audition the RF series. Klipsch do cost money and you'll be limited to what you can buy. A pair of RF 82 will run you almost $1K.

Another alternative are Bic Accoustech, especially the PL-89 Speakers which is sold in pair for $550. The Accoustech have been compared well with Klipsch at half the price. You can pretty much buy the whole Accoustech set for the same price of a pair of Klipsch RF 82. IMHO, that's not a bad deal. There is a very long thread on accoustech on this forum....just do a search.

Buy the best you can afford for your subwoofer. HSU, Epik, SVS, eD seems to the favorite.

If you have a PSB dealer in your area, check out the new Image T6. They are both musical and dynamic. You indicated that you were looking for value, and while that's a nebulous concept, given the price range you laid out, these definitely qualify. In fact, most PSB speakers -- even their $5000 Synchrony One -- consistantly get kudos from the audiophile press on their price/performance ratios. Paradigm and Monitor Audio also make speakers that perform quite well in their price ranges.

If you're getting a subwoofer, why do you want towers? Your Onkyo TX-NR807 has Bass Management. If you use it to send the bass to the subwoofer, (and it will usually be the best speaker in the system to handle it), you don't need all the "deep" extension of most towers. Just get really good bookshelf/monitor/satellite type speakers. Take the money you save and get second sub. The whole *system* will sound better.

I am inclining towards the PSB T65(probably include the C60) which is on sale.....what do u guys think??

After reading someones experience with auditioning some speakers, you may want to think about giving HSU's a listen, the enthusiast package2 would fit your budget, and has a really nice sub in it as well (if you call them I bet they could upgrade the sub if you wanted even more sub than what it has, maybe the VTF-3 MK 3).

After reading acroy's writeups on various speakers he auditioned (he did a great job on the reviews), heck I'm even thinking about giving them a try. Here's the thread on some of his reviews.

You might want to listen to Monitor Audio RS6's. Should be a dealer in your area. Highly reviewed and widely recommened. I have seen reports of them getting cleared out for $800 to make room for it's replacement, the RX6.

Just so you know...the reason the T65 is on sale is because it is discontinued. That doesn't make it a bad deal, it just means that Paul Barton has come up with a better performing speaker in that price range (i.e. T6).
