Motherboard: AMD/AM3, 790GX, MicroATX

Thread Starter
Looking for motherboards that are the following:

AMD
AM3
DDR3
790GX
Micro ATX

I've only found offerings from DFI Lan Party and Biostar. ASRock has something, but I cannot find good availability in the US.

Is there going to be anything from Gigabyte, MSI, Asus? Why are these "leaders" so slow to provide this platform? Is the AM3/790GX too new and not yet widely available?

MSI has a board like that but with a 785 chipset (good board BTW). Is 785 newer than the 790?

I've had great results with Biostar mobos the last three years. No issues thus far.

My last two builds I used TA790GX XE board - no complaints.

The main features of 790GX are

- Dual PCI Express 2.0 x8 for CrossFireX (the most important feature)
- RAID 5 support
- Slightly higher graphics core clock (the least important)

Apparently there is no point of using microATX for these features (too crammed for two GPUs in microATX, possibly causing an overheat issue; everybody uses an ATX case for five-six HDDs, an optimal number of HDDs for onboard RAID5). Perhaps that's the reason why the three major mb manufacturers don't (and perhaps won't) provide microATX 790GX mb.

BTW what's your reason to use mATX 790GX instead of mATX 785G?
