VPL-VW11HT to VPL-HW10

Hi all,

It's nearly 10 years since I purchased my VPL-VW11HT which I am still using! The lack of HDMI support is a killer these days so time for a upgrade.

I was thinking of a VPL-HW10 however there is no where local to me (Swindon UK) that has one for demonstration. So I am wondering if anyone who has seen both of these PJs can let me know if I can expect a big improvement in picture quality (I hope so after 10 years)?

How comparable are the new generation of projectors compared to LCD TVs assuming a light controlled room for viewing?

Regards,

Ian.

I own the previous Sony VPL-VW10HT, bought in 1999, now 950 hours in use.
I am considering a replacement, either with Sony VPL-HW10 or VPL-HW15 or even a Panasonic unit.
I've got a very nice plasma Pioneer KRP-500A but "I can“t live without" a bigger picture, now with a couple of Blu-rays to get the best off.
