First thing to try: put the card in a different PCIe slot on your motherboard if there is one available.

A user called leomarco had a similar problem which he solved doing this: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1196020/avertv-hd-dvr-new-pcie-hd-capture-card/360#post_21080918

By the way, could you tell us what your motherboard is and other system specs for future reference?
I don't know what is a motherboard but my computer is a Dell Optiplex 320

Hi all, sorry to intrude on your thread. smile.gif

My preferred retailer has this card on sale for a (minor) reduction, so I'm trying to figure out if it would be a worthwhile purchase. I've skimmed this thread, but you'll have to forgive me for not taking the time to digest all 500 posts.

I want to use the card to capture footage from my PS3 in lossless (or with minimal quality loss) 720p over HDMI. Would someone be able to verify this is possible? From what I understand, I need to use VirtualDub and leave the card's software running in the background.

If that is doable, then the next concern is whether I have the necessary hardware to back it. I'm running a 3570k @ 4.2GHz and 8GB of RAM. I would rather not waste the write cycles, but I have an SSD which I can use if need be. Of course I would rather write to HDDs, but the speed (or lack thereof) may be an issue.

If any owners or aficionados could chime in, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Yes it is possible. For lossless, the write speed of the medium is the main concern. The denser the platter, the better.

My HDD is older, so its write speed is only 60MB/s, and 50 is probably the highest it would be stable. The SSD can do 150MB/s write.

What sort of speed would be required for 720p60 video?

(Presumably it would depend on which codec I use to compress it. With my processor, I would like to think I could use one which would provide decent compression.)
The video data for my 720p60 recordings is in the range of 32MB/s typically. It varies a few MB/s here and there. Give it a try. Do be sure to adjust the buffers in VirtualDub etc. with values like what a couple of us gave earlier in the thread.

My CPU is a Phenom II X4 965 and it mostly sits unused with Ut Video codec, but I don't think you'll find a codec that can do lossless at a better compression ratio in realtime on today's processors. Unless you want to drop to YV12 and use x264 lossless.

Hello guys,

I have a problem with Game Broadcaster HD. I am posting it here because this thread is alive.

I have a problem with recording from Intel HD 3000 graphics HDMI output. When I set the resolution of attached monitor (Game Broadcaster HD virtual monitor) to 720p and resolution 720p for recording video in MediaCenter 3D software, MediaCenter is upscaling it to 1080p and then shrinking back to 720p apparently. You can see it on video of static text which is not nice clean but most importantly when I make screenshot in MediaCenter it is 1080p image.

I am using Windows 7 64-bit on some Asus board with Core i7-2600K and I am capturing the ouput of the graphics on the same computer, but I guess it should not be reason for this problem.

Is it known problem or any idea?

Thanks.

Back again. smile.gif

I have the card set up and partially working. I accidentally installed the newest drivers which came with their media software. I went back and grabbed the older driver (thanks!) and now I can do the HDMI trick.

I'm having a problem with it, though. When I preview it in VirtualDub, it will drop frames even in the preview. It also does this in my recordings. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when it drops the frames. More importantly, once it drops, it will stay low (anywhere from 30 to 5 fps) until I stop previewing in VirtualDub and start then start previewing again.

Is there a VirtualDub setting that I should be changing? This doesn't seem to happen if I preview with the bundled software or else I would inquire as to whether I should move the PCIe slot it is in.

I'm not sure if there is a solid answer for this, but thanks for all the help thus far.

I bought this card yesterday and will install it into a Dell XPS i7-3770 16GB DDR3 2TB 7200rpm with 256 SSD. I'm trying to pull some HD basketball games off of my Pace DVR (multi-room). I have used AverMedia's software in the past and it works fine for me, I guess. I experimented with FRAPS, VirtualDub and a whole host of other programs, but none of them could keep the frame dropping below AverMedia's software. My question is, with the OS on the SSD, would it be better to capture the MPEG files from component input to the 7200RPM drive, or the SSD? I'm guessing that the PC is more than capable of keeping up with the content, but which drive will have the faster/more reliable write speed.

These 6 games will each be in the 30GB range after completion, using the 30000 VQ at 29.97 1920x1080i Audio freq 48000 with 256kbs Audio encoding. In the end I have been using Sony Vegas Pro 11 to encode the final projects into a Blu-Ray image at 1920x1080 @ 60fps, 2 channel PCM. This is a brand new computer, purchased for this sole purpose. I imagine my prior captures dropped a considerable amount of frames, so I'm wanting to redo them with the least amount of frame dropping. Each recording lasts 2-2.5 hours, so the PC will get a workout here for the next day and a half.

Try Virtualdub or AmarecTV to recod this. AMC no have quality preview/record in MPEG2 mode. For any PC record using only AVI options.

In capture mode UNCHECK "Enable Audio Playback". If check, you will get low fps on recordings.

Mirillis Action! provide best capture then Aver Card. Its record full 1080p@60 with no slow game.

Why capture MPEG2 files?? Use AVI lossless capture with UT VIDEO CODEC (ULY2 mode). Its recor in max quality and no frames dropped.

Hi Folks,

We are currently capturing under Win7 32bit with the .21 drivers and VirtualDub for capturing. The Capture HDD is a Raid o configuration with two disks
Our Signal is 720p50.
With the default settings from VirtualDub we are getting lost frames and plenty of inserted frames.
Within this thread I found some tips for the Disk I/O settings which we are trying now.

My question: Can someone post all related VirtualDub settings he/she is using in order to get no lost and inserted frames?

Thanks in advance, Sebastian

Do you try select NO PREVIEW mode in VD??

I have inserted frames if my source is 59.94 and select record to 60 (AMARECTV has this problem). But I select 59.94, no frames inserted problems.

Hi everyone !

Since HDMI / HDCP seems to be unlocked with those special drivers, I would like to be able to capture the untouched transport stream coming from my STB (not a re-encoded version by Avermedia Media Center).

First of all, for the quality of the video, and second of all, because it would allow me to get 5.1 sound, which I cannot get using the provided software.

Can this be accomplished ? If yes, what kind of software do I need ? Hardware is not an issue here ... smile.gif

This is impossible. The TS is already decompressed by the time it gets to the HDMI port. You will need a CableCARD tuner, like the InfiniTV, to do this.
is it possible to get this device to record re-encoded video, but with 5.1 sound, like with the hauppauge hdpvr does with component cables ?
about InfiniTV, is there a chance a provider, such as Bell Fibe, can provide me such card ?

If you're talking about the InfiniTV, no, it does no encoding. IF you're talking about the HD DVR, I don't know

Is Bell Fiber a traditional cable operator (using coax inside your house, not IPTV)? If so, maybe. Unlike the US, Canadian cable operators are not legally required to offer CableCARD, but some do. You may also be able to take it out of a STB, as even without pairing you will get copy freely content, which is all you can use to do what you want anyway. Check your agreement with your operator for the legality of removing the CableCARD from your STB.

No, the card only records stereo audio.
Thanks all for your help.

Sucky card overall. Hacked HDMI capture drivers are pointless without 5.1 sound. Returned the card for refund.
Hi guys,

Im new here so gentle please! ha. I happen to read a review on neweggs website for this card and a chap named tehminja1134sh said that it was possible to decode 5.1 audio over HDMI using the right capture program. Does anyone know anything about this? I have tried to contact him but no reply which is annoying. Here is what he said:

"A crapton of inputs, displays up to 1080i, and if you use the right program, will decode 5.1 surround sound over HDMI. Can record in insanely high quality with the right program and codec, and is overall an amazing card. Works wonderfully with my Wii via Component, my Xbox 360 via Component, and my PS3 with HDMI. Everything renders nicely in Sony Vegas, and looks great with the right settings."

Really would like to get this to work so if anyone ha even the slightest idea, i would appreciate it! I did try AmarecTV but that didnt show up 5.1 audio so at least that program is ruled out as the caputre software this guy used for surround sound.

Thanks in advance andd happy new year!

Hello, does anyone know where to find, or has a link to, AverTV MediaCenter 1.7.8? It is not available on the AverTV website (only 1.7.9 version is). I need the 1.7.8 for its ability to capture in AVI (for compatibility reasons). Any help would be awesome! Thank you!

Hi Tiago silva, try .22 version instead .21.

All H727 users report work suing .22 driver.

Try and reply
