What? A BD player or an HD codec capable AVR? Or both? The BD player is a cheap solution but upgrading the AVR isn't so much. I waited a lllloooooonnnnggggg time before I found one that I liked and I just recently picked it up. Expensive gizmo's.

Yes it is awesome in TrueHD. When the Enterprise goes to warp my whole house shook. My dogs ran to the bedroom lol.

I loved it too, but i think terminator salvation may have been even better.

My neighbors just came over and asked me what I watched Saturday night!!!! Their house is 250-300 feet away.
I told them they heard the Enterprise go into warp speed.

It sound so good that I watched it twice. The second time I backed it up and listened to the Enterprise going into warp speed four or five time. My son jumped the first time. Caught him off guard.

I had a movie night with my new Maelstrom-X 21" in a sealed box.

The scene where Nero drops the red matter into Vulcan, and the device blasts past Kirk and Sulu on the laser drill...everyone in the house jumped. Between the surround sound and new sub, it really sounded like something blasted past us in the theater. That was far more impressive then the warp jumps.

Damn, I haven't picked it up yet

Birthdays, thanksgiving....all that family stuff is cutting into my fun

Splitting hairs subjective reviews do not count

Anyways HDAudio is pretty damn good so I see little reason to argue against it. Its like arguing that driving a Prosche 911 wasn't that fun

If you quickly time-stamp that it may make its way into the Blu demo disc thread!

I'll see what I can do!

I need to get some of the later discs from that thread. I have the older ones and was a bit disappointed in the compression and transfer quality of many of them. I'm hoping the newer ones have their stuff together.

Watched it again last night. Holy cow. I have to say the dual RS225's in each of my three mains really hit the midbass pretty hard. Amazing little drivers for the money. They operate from 80hz to 400hz.

Pretty impressive handing off 80hz from quad tumults with 6k watts... anyone thinking of a DIY main the WTMW at HT Guide has to be concidered..

Star Trek sounded pretty good on my system, but for some reason I found that I had to turn the sound way up relative to my other movies. For example, I had Fight Club (which sounded awesome) at -27 on my receiver. Popped Star Trek in and had to turn it to -12 to get what seemed to be the same volume. Course, it was a Saturday and I was somewhat inebriated so that may have been a confounding variable.
