no, it's not "worthless"... why are you assuming that?

however, for sd broadcast signals displayed on a projector, yes, it's essentially worthless...

So in that case, I don't even need upconversion then, right? I can just get something like an onkyo 507?

sorry, no opinion on that...

as i implied in a post way earlier in this thread, i believe that your biggest improvement in any avr that you buy today over what you have now will be the room correction software... i have no idea what the 507 has... if it's 2eq, then i'd pass...

Ah. I see that the 507 does have audyssey 2eq. Which type of technology do I want to get that is still relatively affordable?
