Are you counting price and weight as something wrong?
I went with the LG 42LH40 after not seeing many evident problems, under $800, can be less, can be much less at Fry's. 36 lbs, 2.7 ms response, 120 Hz, 1080p and 4 HDMI, changes channels quickly, lots of custom picture options, swivel stand, senses which inputs are active, decent remote, "eco mode" and all that, good looks, resale value. I also believe it's an S-IPS.
Game mode is pretty good out of the box, or cinema for movies.
The 46" XBR8 is reasonably priced for LED lighting, for now, the Toshiba LED-lit ones when calibrated seem to have few flaws for an LCD. Personally I saw the LCD Regzas right next to the LED-lit ones, both looked great.
If you want peace of mind get the warranty and a local source that can replace it?
