I need to get back to the safety of the forum, I'm just killing time reading threads and went through the "bye CRT" one. Man there are a LOT of ignorant "haters" on here. "Digital is best because the circut city guy said so". B.S.

I'll always wonder why digital guys even read CRT forums? I guess since they can't do anything but complain when they blow a bulb and find out it's not covered by warranty, they don't have anything to talk about. I guess there's guys that have converted, but they are ok because they actually owned CRT. I can't stand people that don't even know what they are, never viewed a properly set up CRT, yet feel they know enough to have a discussion regarding them. KAL, HELP!!!

Uh oh!!! Looks Like Chris found another forum to visit, now you need the AVforums too !
There's tons of old threads that have great info on them here. I doubt I'll use it much. Amazing how many post here and not on Curt's forum.

Yes I agree, this is where i got most of the info for the Marquee thread, look in the Archives at the bottom of the main forums page, there are two sets. Some good reads, especially all the arguing between Mark Haflic,Bill Blue, Mike Parker, and CMJohnson and Chris Steven's. it got pretty good at times.

Curt's site is growing and for a site that is not as old as AVS it is doing a great job!

Curt you should built some redundancy into your site...maybe a couple of servers so that once one is down it gets forwarded to the back up server! (It will cost more but at least there will be no downtime!)

I'm just thankfull for having this site and curt's both are a tremendous resource for the CRT world! A lil down time isn't the end of the world but reminds me how much I do enjoy the sites. Thanks again Curt for providing the site in the first place

No Not again. I was just getting to the bottom of GOZER's problems with Nashou.

Or is Curt's site down again 12-15-09-5:17 pm?

It has been on and off for a while this afternoon.

Dang, I need my cordless drill advice...

But it's more than wheels, we were also discussing tires.

Sorry, I was out buying digitals, and the site objected.

I saw the title of this thread and I was seriously worried. I`ve seen Curt both when he was UP and when he was Down and once when I think he was both UP and Down. Then there were nights when I suspect Curt was upright and his girl friend was upside down or maybe it was the otherway but I degress.

Reading I discovered it was another thread about his website being down but that is hardly worth a thread. Sometimes its up, sometimes its down. CRT is a slow placed world. Nothing is quick and easy. So if the site is down, quaff a few, smoke a cigar, take a nap and try back when you wake up to a

Mom. Daddy is watching dots again.

Now if you will excuse me, I am going to watch a new flick I just got, The Fifth Element. Hope its good.

I believe that Mark is on hallucinogenics rather than uppers or downers again...

I really don't see how that could possibly be worth it. It would cost considerably more (probably $1000/month if not more) to put up a server farm with database mirroring (not to mention the added complexity of maintaining it).

And all for what? So that if something happens for an hour or so every once and a while, a few hundred people don't notice?

We're not processing credit card transactions here (where any downtime results is millions of dollars lost).

Snowed in in Brookeville,MD today. About 12 inches so far, going to end up with 20. No chance of getting out untill Sunday afternoon. I did buy the new Disney BD version of Snow White, maybe I should watch that in thrilling 720p (my standby digital) while my 1080p Samsung is hanging out in sunny San Diego for in depth MTF measurements. If I could get out and could afford the trip, I think I would go to San Diego to visit it.

Anyway, not that I can get there, what is Curt serving anyway? It is about 2 PM here, time for a cigar and a shot of burbon (Pappy Van Wrinkle 23 year old).

Cancelled our dinner reservations tonight (went last night instead) and now I can watch the Dallas\\NO feetball game live. Who`s gonna win?
